Is the monza too bad too repair? If you are gonna scrap it, would the tailgate be for sale.

I say do it too. That car was winking at me quite heavily but geographically it is not ideal. BUT I would say stick with a standard engine, it looks too good to mess with.

I've looked at it twice before on e-bay and managed to stop myself, but this time I've failed! Not keen on keeping the standard 2.0s lump as it's only 100bhp and it'll be a bit gutless in a big car like that. May consider a Manta GTE lump for a bit of improvement, but I've got this Monza lump just begging for a home! ;D Guess I'll have to wait and see; a) if I win it and b) what it's like when I get it! I've never seen a VC/VH Commodore look so good! (Obviously it's an Opel and not a Holden but still..)
Almost makes me want to euro-look one of the ragged Aussie ones... with the dirty 202 6 in it.. or the 253 or 308, V8s... hmm.. no, musn't.

Sigmasan - are mkII Carltons of the live axle and 4-stud hubs persuasion?

They are 4-stud. Not sure on the axle setup but I would guess that they are live.

my mk2 1.8 is a four stud live axle, the 2.0,s where 4 stud and the 2.2i,s where five stud. saloons have a different rear suspension set up to the wagons so not sure.
