Hey ...I owned this red 604 for many years...it’s great to see it’s still on the road! Probably the most comfortable car I’ve ever driven....a mobile armchair! Seeing your photos....is like seeing a very old friend again and reminds of some nice times!!!

I’m new to this site....can you read my posting about your/my red 604 A574 KAC ! 🙏🏻 Yeah we can see your posts! This thread is from 2012 though, and the owner hasn't been online since 2017. Just did a quick reg check and it looks like this car was last MOT'd in March 2014 and hasn't been taxed since 2015, currently SORN. The latest photos of the car online seem to be from 2012 The car may well still be out there somewhere, maybe someone on here can help further?

Hello all, I bought A564KAC in February 2019, along with a 1984 604 GTI. Both will be restored but at the moment they live in a power free lockup. The red 604 has a horrible non-standard air filter which I want to return to factory. The previous owner partially dismantled the engine due to a suspected head gasket. Looks like fun to get back together! The GTI has no boot floor as it's rusted clean away but otherwise it is complete and looks nice and unmolested. Apart from two non-standard alloys which look they are from a 505 V6. I owned a manual ti between 19984 and 1988. Best car I ever owned and I loved it. Unfortunately oxygen loved it more and it fell apart on me, door bottoms, front and rear screens and this was after they were supposed to be galvanised. I also bought a slightly better condition one; a 1977 SL. It will make a good template from which to work from. If you have any pictures or stories etc. I would love to hear them. Regards, Rob
