Ku Jnr's first car. It was her 5th birthday on Sunday and no surprises I didn't get it ready for then... But. Its suddenly moved on a pace, and you have to know thats not down to me. Anyone who's been following the progress on Rods n Sods will know Paul G & his lad have been doing the heavy fabrication stuff for me as otherwise she'd be 18 and it still not done. So.... ages ago I had a plan, and an eBay win and some assistance in recovering the body Stuck that in store with my own rusty dead tat Then more ebay winning the plan is obvious this is where Paul & Martin come in. Trial fit of the body and chassis looks good strip down and adjusted wheelbase steering features Escort Mk2 UJ's on the original column which is chopped and dropped to suit the boss made to suit and fitted with a Mountney I bought off John DTHP. then stance had to be determined and the body mounted appropriately so then Paul and Martin could start fabricating the new battery location stuff, and so on You will notice its been tubbed at the rear, pro street style yo! The rear valance was a DIY one which came with it. Paul adjusted the fit. tinwork in the boot done Dash and steering column are done batteries, motor and so on in. indicators tail lights coming on.... grill and repro Vespa spotlights as headlights and then back over to mine for finishing off.... She has chosen the colour Right now I'm in the middle of decorating bedrooms and all so its stalled slightly again But we are so nearly there. I've had a drive of it, now its a runner.

Caddy? I had a Fleetwood Brougham but I sold it ages ago.
2nd thought - you mean the pickup? Its a Ford Ranger and it belongs to a mate's garage.
Finished pics coming as soon as its, erm, finished. I have to sort out her new bedroom first, but that should only take a couple of days when I get onto it.... Then a couple of days on the Austin and it's done. Trying to get the Buick running thats in the garage so I can get that out to have more space to spray it in...

That is absolutely excellent. Out of interest, who is sitting in the pedal car and why have you badly Photoshopped Speedman's face onto him? ;D

Nice, had one when i was 1. Dad built a dropped tube front end for it and gave it some flames. Looked nice but the tyres rubbed the arch and when i used to race it down the driveway the bumper would bottom out on the curb. It did give me some strong legs though! I'm 28 now and i'm glad i never let him sell it but not so glad i cant fit in it anymore.

I had one of those (the J40, not the mobility scooter . . .) when I were a lad (early 60s) (passed down to me by my older brother) When I outgrew it dad donated it to a Scout Jumble Sale

It looks like we have had similar ideas I started with a few pedal cars for my grandson Joe but found the J40's far too heavy but then I got to this stage a couple of years back. and then onto this petrol version the pic was taken on the day it arrived back at mine , first thing to go was the Jaguar which was replaced by a nice chrome cap. Last I heard this was still on the hot rod scene but now painted satin black
