So the van is currently wearing the Pan-Am livery? If so, it is awesome and only needs little details to make perfect IMHO.
The crossed out VW roundals on the wings maybe abit much, but maybe little, tiny baywindow silhouettes with crosses through them might be abit more fitting (more like what used to be painted on planes)
As said, suitable in-flight literature (the Fight-Club stuff would be perfect) and if it has a TV/VCR combo inside (like most do) maybe some cheesy films, Con-Air, AirPlane and the like.
These really do have heaps of potential.

It has the livery on it currently ( looks abit photoshoped as the vinyals new and very vibrent.) not going with the crossed out vw roundals. But the stewardess has a certain appeal. I'm loving owning it so far. had vws all my life but this was so much cheaper than even a decent T4 abet not to run but that v8 sounds lush Your right about the details going to have this framed in the cabin cruser interior In flight safety instructions would be nice but they make big money on ebay, defunct share certificate was 4 quid posted readers ride thread here retrorides.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=readersrides&action=display&thread=114251

Sticker bombing is in my opinion this years stupid fad following on from rat look. The sooner it dies the better! Also why the "leave it to the dubs" types, it is certainly not limited to dubs having stickers covering entire panels or windows. All too often I hear people justifying sticker bombing because of the cost of repairs yet I've heard of people spending close to hundred(s) of pounds of tacky stickers with slogans that are "cool" for a few weeks then every "cool" kid in town has one so it becomes over played and incredibly boring plus anyone who isn't interested in cars just thinks they look plain stupid. OP- where is the option to buy some correct colour paint and paint yourself? or if its vinyl see if you can get a reproduction made of the originals? Do you ever have anything positive to say? Not on that van, no.

I Think sticker bombing works to a extent but not on the van buddy, what you have done so far is plain cool, sticker bombing would ruin it, but i do like sticker bombing i have some my self on my fiat

Pan Am livery and then slam it on bags. That way you've got the 'air' pun and then maybe change the livery so it says 'Slam Am'. If you don't do it, I so am.* *given the resources

The irony of using 'Pan-Am' and 'bomb' in the same post is not lost on me.
I think it looks just dandy how it stands now. But it's your ride, and if you decide to stickerbomb its' flanks, then stand up and be proud.
Just don't drive near any Middle-Eastern embassies. ;D

I noticed that, but suspected the irony flew over the heads of most like a 747. ;D Did consider the implications of using the livery, but decided to go with it as I'm not about to start making a replica of "that plane" nor a tour of Scotland. It came down to the other U.S carriers not being as iconic. And always liked the brand since it featured in film adaptation of catch me if you can where he used the decals off model planes to make fake checks. Love the idea of working on the inside I think I'm convinced that the outside should stay as is . If any thing I might get a stencil set to spray a fleet number on the back may LAX77 as a play on my username and airport. And maybe mark the psi on the arches numbering the roofs a great a plan a not wasted as I live on the in a secound floor flat so a least I will see it

Not on that van, no. Plenty of positive things to say, feel free to read the hundred odd posts I've made. What can I say, I can appreciate a wide range of modified and standard vehicles, I enjoy building my own cars, helping friends/family with their cars, help organise events and do admin work for car clubs and am almost certain there is more petrol in me than blood but I'm not allowed to have an opinion when someone asks a question?! You need to be careful, forums become very boring if you aren't allowed any form of criticism. OP - now that it is clearer that the PAN-AM stickers are ON the van already id say leave it be. Plus I am NOT the only person who said NO to sticker bombing! Dave

Now I reread my previous post, I tend to agree that the VW decals would be abit fussy, However... If any thing I might get a stencil set to spray a fleet number on the back may LAX77 as a play on my username and airport. And maybe mark the psi on the arches ....I like both of these ideas.

Lovely looking van that doesn't need much more doing to it externally. Internally it just needs Christina Ricci reclining.
I would have done it in Air Force One replacement bus service livery.
