Here is my sons Mk1 Fiesta. He bought it 12 months ago with a view to doing it up, but he has done nothing unless he had to, and has decided that retro is not for him. Used as his daily driver for the last year, it has just gone in for an MOT and failed on exhaust, CV boot, two small holes on sill (first time welded we think - solid otherwise), rear brake efficiency and emissions.
All will be done by Friday so will come with fresh 12 months ticket.
Good bits:
12 months MOT.
5 and a bit months tax.
Very solid.
Excellent interior with later front seats.
Original radio (not wired in - newer radio / CD provides tunes)
Recent points, condenser, dissy cap, coil, HT leads, engine mounting.
Pepperpot alloys and boot spoiler, with front spots (all by PO - trying to make it look XR2 ish I guess)
Bad bits:
Although solid, it is looking tired and has 30+ years worth of general marks and scratches. Would respond well to a T-Cut / polish). Rust showing on one rear wheel arch and on front by headlights (I will try to get some close up shots of this in the next day or two).
Some of the PO`s under bonnet wiring for spots and radio is poo. It all works but is scruffy.
In a nutshell, this is solid and driveable but needs tlc, which my son could not be bothered to give it. It is a good solid base vehicle and would be ideal for a running restoration.
He has just bought a new car and transferred the insurance over, so this needs to be gone really over the weekend. I have a few pics from RR last year, but I will try to get more detailed ones later today.
For more info, call my son directly, Tom, on 07920 - 104980.
Cheers.
