Many thanks for all the kind comments, it's been a tough few years and even though I can't see it getting any easier anytime soon, I've tried to shift some aspects of current life around to allow some time to get back into this project. I'd spent a good few hours just moving stuff from around the car, finding proper homes for it (rather than just shoving it in a pile somewhere else) and trying to approach my return to working on it with a bit more organisation. I was so focused on getting the stuff moved away from the car, it was only when I turned around to pick up the gearbox that I noticed how it was suddenly that Land Rover again, not just a thing covered in things, buried behind more things. I'm not sure if that makes sense, but I didn't particularly notice it until everything was cleared away and then, **BAM**, there it was. At that point I got this massive wave of excitement (and no small amount of wood) just looking at it as a car again. MY CAR! I still have to pinch myself that it is actually mine. Hey Mark, I'm so glad you're signed up! I'm also really glad you're back into your project again - you really must be the Grand Master of putting things on hold? It must be getting on for seven years that it's been sat there waiting? The fact that you're back on it really makes me happy and I simply cannot wait to see it on the road. Todays simple objective: get the flex plate bolts sorted along with a set of propshaft bolts. Somehow, I don't know how, four of the eight bolts & nuts have gone missing. I guess it's the legacy of leaving a project for a couple of years? Things are bound to go astray in that time? I just hope I've not lost anything too significant? Rich seems to think they are the same as the one on his MG. Time to give Ant at Moss a call....he loves helping us Area 52 guys out. |

Good to see some progress on this again! It's great having a space like area 52 where you can leave projects till you have the motivation, time and the right headspace to do some more work on them.
