Well, after a weekend starting by work til midday Saturday and then getting home to have to play about with a headlight on my friends Corsa C, I wasn't in the mood for any bodywork So I had a tidy up of dust and general accumulations in the back of my car and tried the new (Well, new purchase a few months ago) amp in place of the old speaker amp Old amp was covered in seat foam fallout New on top of old for size comparison Just need to decide whether to attach it straight to the floor or up on the seat rail at the front so it's further away from feet in the rear

Well, managed to sneak in a few more hours today. Spent a little bit of time sorting out the clutter and storage items in the sheds and made a bit more space. Then gave the rear valance a knocking down and a coat of primer. Also prepped the drivers side front wing mounting rail and primered that too. Also managed to get a lick of rattle can paint on there too, only to come back after my cup o tea to find a pair of paw prints in the middle from next doors curious cat Wing was popped in place to check fit and panel gaps Not too bad, and workable. Certainly better at the top of the drivers door with the wing profile at least Also gave the glass a clean off and found loads of specs of underseal on the windscreen. And also drilled the stainless mounting plate for the CD changer in the boot. The speaker amp is screwed down as well, went for a more forward mounting location under the seat, so wayward feet in the back don't attack it It is mounted and plumbed in in this pic, honestly

Went and saw my friend Dave yesterday as I'm off work this week. Whilst there, his dad popped by and asked if I was going to be there for a bit. As he had some bits he had made up for me! Don't know if anyone remembers the rear dampers I got from Avo, but they didn't just bolt on The bottom brackets on them do come off however, so armed with one of the Avo brackets and an original standard rear damper bottom bracket Dave's dad set to his magic

Not a problem andyspanner Any pics of reinforcement underneath the conversion to share? Looks very good in the pics, and do you have a removeable hardtop for it as well? no roof at all mate, all reinforcing was done under the sills which were removed then reinforced underneath, then re fitted so u don't see any structural work. I would like too make a fibreglass roof like the original but removable think it would be cool.

Hopefully with the baffles and the pair of one-way ball valves in the tank it should cure the fuel starvation issues when turning left with half a tank I was going to get it fitted at the weekend, but decided against it with the covering of snow and didn't fancy icy cold water dripping on to me The red paint in the last few pics above is a penetrant spray to check for any holes apparently, I may just fit the sender unit and invert the tank with some fuel in there to be certain before I fit it, and then find out there's a leak somewhere whilst on a petrol station forecourt Still need to remove the exhaust so I can wrap the manifolds up and also fit the heat exchanger and filter arm back on. Been meaning to get that done for as long as the ole girl has been off road!

So the weather was almost nice yesterday so I snuck in a few hours on the car. First port of call was to get a pair of axle stands from Halfords so the front can be up in the air to get underneath So the plan is to get the manifolds off to wrap them and to refit the module cooler and oil filter arm I took off many years ago. I'm wrapping the exhausts as on the drivers side, the primary go either side of the steering column shaft and the UJ has been dried out and made the steering a tad notch Soothe exhaust fittings all got a squirt some weeks ago with some GT85 that was in the shed and again yesterday with a bit of wd40 and the silencers are off. Also managed to get the nearside manifold off easily as well The drivers side manifold is an to get to, and I only have deep sockets or swan neck spanners at home to try and undo them with

I'm glad you're back on proper car work now because all that amplifier stuff sent me to sleep. This is going to be really nice when it's done, I can't wait to see it.

Managed to sneak a few hours at work cleaning up the nearside manifold ready for wrapping this week Nothing major, just cleaning up the welds and filing down some weld splatter on the primaries! Hopefully get it fully wrapped and ready to go back in if there isn't too much work booked in tomorrow morning

Once the 3 booked in jobs were done this morning I was allowed to work on the nearside manifold til closing time at 12 Managed to use more wrap than I expected, but have got the primaries covered up now All done by 12pm and after a 10minute walk home lugging the now heavy manifold I got on with refitting it And plucked up the courage and armed with some 1/2inch swan neck spanners and a semi deep Snap-on 13mm I set to removing the drivers side manifold! Just need to remember when it all goes together that cylinders 1 and 2 primaries go on first, then 3 can fiddle in around the steering shaft And the 3 primaries came out from here believe it or not
