Hi everyone , will upload pictures asap basically got a diamond white mk4 escort 1.6 GL (electric goodies) , wanting to get rid of it or possibly swap it for something (would also swap for an old ford so long as it was ok ish for rust and had running gear althogh could manage without engine and bad paint etc.) , currently has fitted : 2.2 inch or so back box (sounds great) , Motolita wheel , 5 rs turbo wheels (one in back) , new battery, Rs turbo bonnet,Gmax shocks And KONI springs Cd player (original Radio in boot), and would come with : Rs turbo spoiler , all parts to convert engine to Mfi just needs cam, full rs turbo kit skirts and arches , those other rs accessory skirts (rubbery ones although ones a bit wonky) , two sets of clear indicators , set of white colour coded wing mirrors and finally Two s2 rs turbo recaro seats in good cnd. No MOT although passed fine last year and has been mainly stood since and only driven on occasion + No tax , Engine runs sweet no knocks or rattles, all electrics work well , all it needs is a front bumper of some type as its a bit cracked and your away , Solid shell, needs glass too but I am getting that fitted ASAP and could maybe sell cheaper if you wanted to do that yourself and wanted it quick ,And Paint is good + interior spotless.

Basicly wondering what you all think the lot would be worth and if anyone has only old decent fords or even something else interesting that need renovating as I want a project/ or any cars really you'd fancy Swapping or P/X-ing , will get pics ASAP , thanks a lot for reading , I was thinking around the 680 mark for the whole lot although I might be being optimistic

in terms f p/x a rolling shell with running gear in good nick would be fine if it was something old - old ish and cool , prefer my fords but anything thats not a huge capacity would be considered  |

I know its not worth a lot as a car at all just wondering about all the bits cause id rather sell them cheap as one big Bundle and then if no body wants it weight the shell in and flog the engine , just seems a waste when it could easily be a daily driver and the engines fine and suspension is good , means it could be a decent project for someone but i dunno , would do a swap with sum1 to if something took my fancy

It does look quite smart... I picked up one last summer (same colour as Triggers but it's a 1.3 Popular) for £340 with 31,000 on the clock (genuine one owner from new)..
You don't see many 5DRs about (there's a few ropey ones on eBay)

it looks smart at the moment to be fair, i could break it but it would seem a waste, i paid way to much for it like a knob so its annoying seeing people getting them for around the 400 mark :L , think it would sell better or worse with the rs turbo spoiler and skirts on or rekon it would be better to just sell with it in a bundle?

To be honest how much are the kits worth on their own?
I've been in the same boat as you, just have to remember some you win, some you lose - eventually one day you'll have to cut your loses and just take what things are worth. I'm standing at a loss on a few of my projects.

Your best bet would be to get it in for an MOT. i recon with an MOT you'd get the money your after, but without then it is only really worth scrap value plus a bit extra for the goodies with it, perhaps £300?
for a true value, take lots of detailed pic's, do a detailed write up and stick it on ebay, 99p no reserve on a 10 day listing covering 2 weekends

I bought a mint taxed/MOT'd 41,000m 3dr 1300L off this very forum a while back. Cost me £225.  . Ran it for 18 months, other than a tickle with the welder for the MOT and a couple of oil changes I didn't have to put a spanner on it. You'd get more by parting it out to be honest. Nobody really covets 5dr Mk4's yet, some of the bits may be of value to somebody restoring an RST, but the lack of interest shown on here gives a reasonable indication as to its value as it stands. |
