We're used to seeing them like this. Tearing up the gravel and spitting up the mud... ...but every now and then a road-going example might pop up. Just like this one, discovered via Man on the Move. Yes. Yes please. MOAR!! Chris

Surely they were all road going Must have been amazing watching them drive between stages. They are function over form in its purest sense.

phwoar.
Now don't get me wrong, they look great all stickered up, but like Bizzle said, they look plain obscene in a solid colour with a tax disc and numberplate attached.
Looking at them, I'm surprised they had the cheek to call them Deltas, that front end is pure Beta...

Group B has always been my greatest obsession/passion!
Yes the rally cars in action were stuff of motorsport legend & something I'll never forget witnessing back in the day.
However the road cars offered for sale to the general public are the ones which have always held my affection & get me wobbling/dribbling uncontrollably.
Purpose built one-off (ok 200-off) 4WD mostly mid engined silouette race cars. Fully trimmed with a carpet & sound insulation, nice comfy seats, tinted/electric windows & painted in a nice colour....with the exeption of the Metro 6R4
With number plates & a tax disc, what's not to like..?

The dealer 'up north' selling the red one in the last couple of years (listed Nov '10) was Walkers of Northallerton. I thought it was still for sale but seems to have disappeared now?
Bonhams auctioned one in July '11 which might have been the same car?http://www.bonhams.com/eur/auction/19286/lot/427/ £100,500....seems a bargain to me and definitely on the euromillions-win shopping list!
Edit - it was the same car
