Love him or hate him he is one of us ;D I was listening to Radio 2 this morning and I heard Chris Evans talking about organising a CarFest on August bank holiday this year, the event will more than likely be in Hampshire and he was appealing for interest from car clubs, so any one up for this if it happens? Personally I have always been a bit of a fan of old ginge so I reckon this would be great, especially if he has his Ferraris there! www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/chrisevans/2012/02/carfest_carmalade.shtml

Yeah I too like Ginger Evans......remember taking part in "I honked my horn on radio one" won a broken bug and a T-shirt three sizes too small!!
Love the fact he paints all his motors white!!

Bumped into him at he Mille Miglia back in 2010 - he was in the GT. He has had his 'collection' at the FOS for the last couple of years.
They didn't mention yesterday his £12.5million 250gto '64 though on TG.

Sounds like it could be good, but there is no way I'd consider going if it clashes with The Gathering. Simple as that.
Plus, I wonder what they'd make of half most of our cars?

I'd hope it's not the Gathering weekend, the last 3 years the gathering's been the weekend before the bank-holiday weekend. The bank-holiday weekend is normally the last weekend of August, and is firmly booked in as busy for my self, although if it's on the actual bank-holiday Monday I'd probably be up for this.
I can't imagine any massive objection to modified old cars from someone who's willing to paint an F40/288 GTO ect.. a non-standard colour.

Would be nice, but I can't help thinking that it'll be just a tad above my financial means..... This is the same as I thought, how ever if Nick Masons 250 GTO also made an appearance I know it would hit the desired sweet spot for me.

About 140 miles for me so it would be a fairly epic trip! Would be worth it though.

That would explain why I saw Chris Evans at Laverstoke Park Farm about 5/6 weeks ago with a small group of people pointing out to one of the large fields. Tis a nice bit of countryside just there, not a HUGE field though, unless he is using more than one. Overton can be a total to get through though if it's busy (can imagine it will be there a few thousand extra cars going through it!)

I was half tempted, but it transpires I'm busy over the bank holiday. It'd be nice if Mr Evans could bring his California to the Gathering though. Imagine that ambling up the hill

Pies? Cakes and a healthy dose of Radio 2 vibe? I have to say I've been tempted myself, even my girlfriend has been pestering me to go... Can't do it though, it does sound good if you can make it

Wow, sounds very cool. I'm quite surprised that this can be organised so quickly. Sounds a bit like the Cholmondeley pageant of power, which has been badged the Goodwood of the North....but this is in the South. Mmm....anyway, sounds great.
