Just got myself one of these, dragged it from a shed it had been stored in for over ten years. For MOT on saturday, will get some pics up then if it passes! Check the inner wings and the front cross member for rot as these were bad areas on the astra/astramax vans, along with the inner a outer sills and bulkhead to floor. Bryan It needed a bit of a repair to the crossmember, couldn't get a new one easily so had it repaired. Also had a few patches done underneath. Sills had been done replaced previously (not very well I must add) but inner wings etc are very good. Rear arches also a bit frilly, could be repaired but new ones would be worth putting on. It passed though, will try & get pics up tomorrow

I used a Corsa Combo for a construction job in the late 90s, '97 it would've been. Kinda white but the panel above the roof was pebble-dashed in rust, in fact there was rust everywhere it was shocking. Horrible to drive. Once the floor was coated in concrete the rear dampers punched through and the back suspension bounced all over the shop. Did i mention horrible to drive and rusty? This was nearly 20yrs ago.
It was written off the books after the job and scrapped. Paid for, but still shocking to me.
Last time i saw an Astramax van it had a Daewoo Nexia front on it. I did kinda wonder why we didn't get Daewoo vans, they'd have been better off doing that instead of aiming solely for the private car sector.

I had a new one at work in 1988, it was a 1.6 and have to say that it was so fast it was dangerous! It really Flew, it would keep up with any of the gti's, xr2,3 etc.....it was good on fuel too. Replaced with a diesel astramax which was a real let down after the petrol.
