You guys have no idea how happy I am to see this. Ed's Datsun, Colin Ware' 280, and Tony king's 'Yota were, and are, 3 of my favorite ever cars and a huge influence for my ''build mentality''. And not last, they were the cars I would see in my mind when thinkin about Unity, which turned out to be my biggest influence ever since I got bit by the kustom car bug. I agree with Ed that the car looked great in blue flake.
Cedric mate, if you don't mind me saying, my advice for the upholstery would be in an early 70s lowrider vibe, so super simple rolled e pleated or diamond pleated, in eithr black leather or vynil. Agreed on the gold piping. Then a lil note of persoal taste. Scale down to 13s and roll on 155/80/13 skinny whites. Just my thoughts. Your car, and I will always love it anyway. Sorry for the book lenght post.

wow this seams like so long ago now.ed's car made a huge impact on me when i first saw it outside his work in blue and primer. after going white and being featured in street machine i knew i had to get a piece of the action. as luck would have it i managed to get hold of ed's dads ms55 CROWN and with a britainia kit installed i was bouncing about like a loon too. . great time :-) ed's car in blue flake would still have to be my fav lowrider ever.street machine had a great pic of mine,ed's and colins cars in a field at the nats. anyway good excuse to wheel out some old pics ;D

Pleasure to meet you Tony, even if only on the internet, and same for Ed. I'm ''italian-Nick'', latest addition to the Unity family, and one of the reasons I'm so proud to be part of it is yours and Eds former rides. Not that the others werent good, just my personal taste, as the club has some damn fine rides in its history and at present, and it motivates me to do my best to make my ride as good. Lately i was very happy to learn that the CROWN is in good hands and possibly clos to gettin back in action.

Almost any lowrider rolls on 13s with 155/80 rubber, just google it.

Almost any lowrider rolls on 13s with 155/80 rubber, just google it. This is actually quite true and if you're looking to build a traditional full size lowrider then that's probably a strong part of the look. Back when I originally put the Datsun together, I went with 14's and low profile 195/45's because that's the look I wanted and it suited the car... plus I really didn't fancy rolling around our shabby, potholed roads on massively stretched crossplys!. It'd be interesting to see how it'd look on that more traditional combo though. Here's another pic of it in blue...

plus, it was the 90s, and it was ''the look'' and i think they suit the car rather well. I have a 155/80 cornell radial on my 13s, and as picky as I am they look real good, even on 5.5 cragars. On 6" or 7" wide wires they look even better. Ill be honest thou, i'd love to roll 5.20s. New ones are 4 plys too. Edit: the NZ datsuns are the dogs! Whats the siler one gonna run suspension wise?

Great thread... I ran into the red 330 and the blue 230 at the BP garage at billing aquadrome way back in the day... I had only ever known big Japanese saloons as very good banger cars to that point. Seeing the cedrics parked together looking so good made a big impression on me. I had a brief chat with owners, who seemed a little suprised some greasy overalled random oik in a ford sierra knew what a Cedric was Oddly enough, I have just been on a 5 hour jaunt to pick up an L24 for a Laurel project today, its partly your fault fellas.

didn't someone change the car from a manual to an automatic, why ? I think Col changed his 330 to auto. These are cruiser cars, much better as an auto. Besides, you need a free hand to hit switches, not gearsticks.
