Red version of mine, except mine is a 4L- it's a Sport by the way, couldn't see that mentioned in the advert. Not convinced that is the 216bhp model though, I think that is the later (X300) shape 3.2. The book figure for mine isn't much more than that. The wheels aren't particuarly rare either- they are the standard Sport wheels and they were on XJS' as well (also in 16" flavour)- they aren't exactly common but I wouldn't call them rare. She should have the auto with the switchable sport mode. They do go pretty well when you flip the switch...
Anyway, these are lovely, lovely cars and that's a very good price. Hope it goes to a good home!

I think it's around 200bhp (according to google) which is more than I thought actually... I wouldn't have been pedantic enough to mention it if I'd realised, I had 180bhp in my head for some reason. The 4L is around 235bhp.
Suprised it doesn't have a sport mode- mine has a three way switch immediately behind the gearstick, left is Sport, middle is normal and to the right locks out 1st. I thought all the Sports had it but it may have just been the 4l.

Only the 4.0's have the switchable sport mode as they use a different electronic selector than the more simple mechanical selector on the 3.2's, this is indeed a nice looking car, XJ40 an apprecrating classic, GLWS!

Ahh- I was beginning to wonder. Cheers for the correction, and sorry for causing confusion. Suprised this hasn't sold yet, you can't get much more car than this for less than £500.
