I get where you're coming from about not wanting to give them the money. You got where I was coming from I have a ton of halfords professional stuff, I just wanted to see if there was anything better! I usually get it because I suddenly need a tool on a Sunday, and guess who's open? Really glad of this reaction, I'll go buy un at t'weekend Cheers fellas

Another vote for Halfords pro, my 1/2" set had had a decade of pro use now and showns no signs of any wear or problems, really good gear..
Teng make superb tools for the money, my tend ratchet spanners have done a decade of hard work as well and they not only work like new they look pretty tidy too!

The Internet, like all tools, if used improperly, can make a complete bo**cks of even the simplest jobs...

Yep halfords again here, I'm in the trade also and if i'm honest I will never buy snap on again. The dealers are always are going under so you have to wait for another one until then the two ratchets and umpteen sockets that are broken get thrown in the bottom draw, while you pop to halfords and find the tools last longer. my snap on 1/2 inch has been repaired 3 times now and still slips senior lads halfords pro is now 5 yrs old never been repaired

epic tools - curse word shop - horrendous employers to work for + 1 The Pro tools are nice (I have a 3/8 set + their breaker bar). Staff attitude and knowledge is curse word I've got nice some Facom gear (made in same factory as Teng??) from MachineMart, used to be off the shelf but thinks it's just mail order now. There's a few brands I'd be happy with, anything German or English is a good start. USA ? Japan ?

Nice generalization there. Quite... As I said earlier the Team Valley branch is excellent. Pity Me Durham have improved hugely since their assistant manager has moved to Stockton. He is a tool. The best and most informed member of staff at Pity Me (IMHO) happens to be female. Washington is a new branch and finding its feet. All in all though, Phil and Roger on the parts counter are simply excellent at Team Valley. They can source parts not listed at other branches and will point customers to other outlets for specific items. If they can't get it, they know where to get it.
