Really feeling the Estelle love, just wish they were a little quickers as standard. They are quick enough to be fun. Bertha had a Weber 30BDIC replacement (not a tuning carb but the direct replacement gives a little more throttle response) for the Jikov. Also had a K&N and a cheap FAI electric fuel pump and one of Butts "Sports" exhausts. Standard apart from a slightly bigger bore. It surprised a few cars. It could also sit at 80 all day in top. But it was noisy, a 1.2 4 speed in a car the size of an orion or an early Scooby (near enough) is going to make sounds to maintain 4k revs in 4th gear. Fit a relay'd over-rode switch for the rad fan for in traffic and wire in a blinker LED to let you know it is on. That way you should never overheat. Just keep an eye on the temp gauge. Also if you felt the need for some serious ICE, the parcel shelf in an Estelle is actually cut for speakers, but the rapid isn't, and the space behind the rear seat houses the battery box, so you could mount your amp and sub at the rear of the car without having miles of thick cable to install. Down side is a fairly low amp Alternator, but I'm sure you could wire in something a little stronger.

Standard ones ain't THAT slow.... would certainly whizz over the first 3 in your sig robin! True, but I have quite a liking for the old speed, and I am not planning to go back to a micra or a standardish metro any time soon! I think I would find it hard to go back to something with a lot less power. Having said that my 480 turbo is starting to feel not as fast as when I first got it chipped. Its ment to be about 170 bhp but I am sure its way less, even so its a fast car IMO. I just don't know what to do with my self.............

170 is never enough if you want speed. Unless you know you are a certified 200BHP club member, and your car is 20years old or more, there is never, never enough.

Been a while since Snotty was last seen online. Not since Simon Clark pulled down Skodaworld. I miss that site. I know it didn't change much. But it was nice to look at what was done.
I think I have somwhere, a copy of the plans of some of the things like exhaust for the GrpB cars. It is all in Czech. If I can find it, I might scan it and post it up as a PDF.

estelles are not about speed per se, they're about having fun, in style speed is relative, its only a perception, and a skateboard inches above the asphalt can feel faster than any supercar!
