Having just come out of the J VIP thread I'm now totally confused but what's cool and what's chav. hang on, surly thats YOUR opinion, and should be for YOU to make your mind up about, just because a thread slags of somthing doesnt mean you cant like it or its not cool... thats just following the crowd. to put this simply: Do YOU like the VIP style? If the answer given is yes, its cool, if its a big phat no, its not cool. Do YOU like the Chav style? If the answer given is yes, its cool, if its a big phat no, its not cool. i hope that helps to sort out your cool / not cool issues. HTH

"geilekarre" is that german for "gay cars"? what was that thing? looks a bit like a merc? why's it got the front end of a (chavved up) mk4 escort? edit: OMG i feel a bit shamed for the german barry; but this is a european disease.... this car is just ugly, but unfortunately i see a lot of worse cars each day, works in progress where you really get worried. And of course the TÜV checks all these things; all 2 years you have to bring your car there. They don't care, if you modify it like this within the 2 year period... but sometimes, the police pulls out these cars; and if they are dangerous, they bring it to the TÜV station which then removes the plates from the cars... the guys from belgium are really crazy, the french sometimes just worrying... i have been to Magny Cours several times, it is really crazy... so is the TÜV like an MOT? i assume not quite the same thing?

Glad someone else has seen the curse word I've got to put up with over here! It's amazing the amount of absolute shockers you see around here. I keep meaning to get photo's but I wouldn't know where to start! Best thing is when they get together in one of the many squares and rev up their diesel seats to 'scream' off at (sub) warp speed. The fact the driving is horrendous means true retro vehicles have a poor chance of surviving over here though.

German TuV is the equivalent of our MOT - but they're a lot stricter. A friend took a golf - the tester stood and bounced on the bumper to test it! Of course it came off and the tester walked away - he hadn't even started the paperwork - just told my mate to go scrap it! They are a law unto themselves to be honest....... good days/bad days. They see a lot of the cars we call 'retro' as road trash...... so aren't too friendly until they pass into official 'classic' status.

"geilekarre" is that german for "gay cars"? what was that thing? looks a bit like a merc? why's it got the front end of a (chavved up) mk4 escort? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D "geil" means "horny"... TÜV is exactly the same as the MOT, but you have to go there all 2 years; they are a lot stricter, and most of the modifications have to be in the papers of the car. If they are not, then you are getting big trouble. Really big trouble is, when you cause an accident with a car without TÜV or modifications in the paper..... a good thing is, that there are more organisations now allowed to make the TÜV procedure, the TÜV itself belonged to the government and had a monopol..... so now i can choose, and competition makes it better...
