No the polonez and the 125P just had leaf springs, but did have rear discs. The gearbox even looks like its from an FSO too
*edit* I think I'm talking curse word, the polonez did have links on the axle Its rotted like a polonez anyway!

Good find, bit of welding and get the T-cut on it and you're sorted...

the gearbox looks fiat/lada/fso, its not lada because the engine is OHV, fiat OHV has a chain drive but the FSO is belt drive, i think?

Hey Greaz, that sounds quite familiar, theres an old quarry round here with several burnt out cars, mostly dating back to the 80's and 70's. Loads of old escorts, cavaliers, fiestas BMW's etc. And also a truck cab too! but its not in a marsh. Most are pretty flattened now though. I had some photos of them all but i lost them.

Mr.B is right i reckon. I'm pretty sure that's a Fiat but not sure what model. It's not a 131 as they're struts and a four link rear. I'd guess it's older. Edit.. I reckon it a Fiat 1300 or 1500 from the mid to late 60's

Fulvias are FWD, in fact pretty much all Lancias are so it can't be one of those. Agree with you about the wheel rim though, it does look lancia-esque.

I reckon it a Fiat 1300 or 1500 from the mid to late 60's the 1300 and 1500 were drum braked at the rear, looking at the wheel rim ,I'd say its a Fiat 124 1.2

This thread reminds of when a friend moved into a farm house and found a massive rubbish pit round the back, where there was a bit of everything, including a chopped up car. From the hubcaps and a bit of c pillar trim I identified it as a Hillman Minx/Hunter!
The hubcaps still there if you looking for one!

although a lot of the rear suspension parts look similar, its not an Alfa, as Alfa engines have cylinder liners, which are not part of the block.
As for the Lancias - werent they V4's ?

......and its not a twin cam Fiat engined car, as the starter is on the wrong side of the block.
don't think its a 60's 1200 Fiat Engine - the water hose inlet/exit is in the wrong place on the block.
