All i want to do is load up a picture of my car and change the colour/ play around with some ideas. Not intrested in wheels or ride height etc as i know what I'm going for.

I know it isn't what you asked for, but there is some free software called GIMP which is basically the same as photoshop 10 years ago. Loads of tutorials and videos online about using it too. No joke, search gimp in google and it's the first thing that turns up

Yeah don't worry he is telling the truth and its what I use, once you know all the features it has it can be quite effective too The 'photoshops' (sounds a bit better than 'GIMPs') I uploaded in my cars thread are done on this.

Changing the colour of a car is generally more difficult than swapping wheels or virtual lowering (in my opinion). I'm afraid unless someone has put effort into making a 'selecta' type of program for your car, no program - free or otherwise - is going to fit your criteria without a bit of skilled input from you.

Changing paint colour is really hard to do, white, silver & black are very hard to work with as well.
That said with the right software it can be done in 10 minutes if you have a steady hand and a good pic to work from.

I use gimp as well (version 2.6) does all the jobs I need it to, colour changes, wheels, lowering etc. colour changes arent too hard once you figure out layers, layer masks etc. there are really good tutorials on youtube for it. just search 'change car colour on gimp'

Post a picture on here and tell us what you want done and I'm sure some generous soul will come along and help you out. Posting very specific instructions and decent donor images is the way to do it though as the more time you put into the the instructions the better it will turn out for you. Beats buying/downloading a program, learning the skills and doing it yourself. Usually if you post crappy instructions on a car forum asking them to photoshop something for you you'll get a load of jokers (like me) doing silly shops and generally pisssing you around so proceed with caution!!!
