They've wrapped a carbon monocoque in carbon look vinyl?!
It is menacing though.

Maybe they wanted to save the paint? Is it valuable enough that non original paint would devalue it? Does wrap damage the paint anyway?

Volvo back as my main squeeze, more boost and some interior goodies on the way.

Looks awesome but the idea of carbon wrap on a carbon car makes me laugh. However, a few kg of added weight is not going to ruin such an impressive car.

Iirc, the f40's panels are carbon Kevlar and the tub is carbon. Carbon Kevlar is kinda browny beige. Always wanted to see some more pics of this F40, I stumbled across this pic a while ago. The most menacing car ever??

Mmm not sure on this one. The thing I don't get about carbon wrap is that it doesn't look like a carbon panel ie it isn't a polished resin surface. It doesn't even look like unpolished carbon, it's too perfect. Can you lacquer and polish this stuff? This, however, still doesn't beat the silliest application of carbon wrap I've seen. Bonnet of a Nissan Navara. I really don't know! On a more positive note, I'd say it looks almost good better if it were plain gloss black.

Best use of carbon wrap I've ever seen. Or should that be carbon wrapped?
It's like putting a "My other car's a Porsche" sticker on a 911....
Such a beautiful shape (one of the very few Ferraris I lust after) and painting it black could possibly devalue it more than wrapping it (possibly, but who really knows?) and I have no issue at all seeing it in fake carbon. It looks awesome and that's enough for me. The only thing I would change would be to remove the tint from the rear lights.
I'm not too keen on the photography/lens used on the first two shots where the car looks oddly stretched (UWA lens with the car facing into the corner) but other than that, the whole look of this car and the idea behind it gets me very excited.

If someone had described it to me, I wouldn't be sure if it'd work... But I think it looks awesome, love it.

That looks great! The F40 is supercar perfection to me. Carbon-fibre-wrapped carbon fibre bodywork? What next, metallic paint-coated metal bodywork?! ;D

Mmm. F40.
In any colour, awesome. Like this, menacing and awesome.
BTW, for anyone contemplating a purchase, they are very comfortable, but the clutch it a bit heavy.

I love the fact from afar it looks like a dusty grey colour almost anti radar paint. Tbh the F40 could come in almost any colour and be truely immense. The best supercar EVER! In fact one of my all time favouritest cars ever!

Also, I did not infact drive down an "old bean". The M-8 motorway is what i meant, sadly over zealous moderators seem to have made the actual name of this motorway autocorrect to "old bean" instead. Handy. Clearly not from Glasgow i see.
Pity for anyone trying to explain a metric 8mm thread in shorthand too now i think about it...

That's pretty damn cool! I can imagine what it looks like in the flesh - I'd say it has huge presence. (Not impressed with the photos however!)

It struck me that it was small, very very low slung, but when compared to regular cars it doesnt seem as ridiculously wide as say a Testarossa or similar. The thing looked like it had landed from another planet though. Sounded incredible!
