Well I'm back from collecting the axle and was quite eager to see if google came through for me, I will let the pictures do the talking!
Original axle is at the back.
found my tape measure overall width between wheel mounting faces is 50 1/4" on original, wire wheel mgb axle is also 50 1/4" spring perches are 38" to outside edges on standard 39" on mgb.
Just need to sort out the braking arangements and what pcd i'll be running, either stick with the current mgb setup and fit some rostyles or something else.
