just had abrief look around,.. but not found many Modified Ford Anglias online and can't think of any that have been magazine featured (unless I missed it?),.. surely its got to be right up there as a good car for Retro business. Plentiful, relatively cheap, very modable, and lazy journos can use all sorts of Harry Potter "magic" references when doing articles. Actually I remember an old racing Anglia that was called Black Magic,.. look the business, went well too. Hold on,.. I take it all back : www.105speed.com/

There are a few involved in Historic Rallying, a nice alternative to an Escort. You're right though, not as many modded ones around as you might think!

I like long walks, especially when they're taken by people I don't like.

If I remember rightly, Practical Classics did a feature on modifying Anglias about 9 years ago. A couple of years ago they did a feature on modified classics as well, and there was an Anglia featured with a Pinto engine, 5 speed gearbox, and RS2000 steering rack and discs. Quite nice it was too.

I do have a soft spot for the Anglia. Even the Harry Potter films didn't put me off them! A 'tina Mk2 is also a favourite of mine. One day I may well do a Duratec HE or Essex V6 build of a Mk2 'Tina .

My Father built an Anglia almost the same colour as this back in the early 70's. That had a metallic Black roof, real shame I don't have any photos. IT was horribly rusty when he bought it and most of the floor was remade with glass fibre. It wasn't a quick bodge job as he was in the trade and not something you could do now but it was still around at least 10 years later and looked just as good.
