Not sure if the 1979 Ford Fairmont fits the "pattern" but I think you can see it there...

My current vehicle 'type' is sight-unseen off eBay! So far I've bought three vehicles by this method and all of them have turned out really well. 1973 VW Type 3 Squareback - Was in pretty good shape and also a bargain, drove it for six months, had some good times and then sold it for more than double what I paid. 1984 Holden WB Ute - Reasonably good value, in good condition for it's age and I'm loving driving it. 1981 Suzuki TS 185 - A proper retro two-stroke dirt bike for less than the price of a Chinese pit bike, how could I go wrong? It starts and runs well and had supposedly just had a new piston and ring, plus it came with a new set of chrome rims! Bargain. Here's a pic of my two newest acquisitions together.

My last two cars have been Micras, it's not a pattern I'd hope to continue.
The two before that were white w123's - now that's much more like it.

I have a type, but its not really the car itself, more what I do to it after I've got hold of it.

Not really, I've owned hundreds of cars and apart from a distinct preference for rwd and manual there been pretty much examples of every type of car you care to think of, though bar a few 205's I’ve avoided small and French I’m finally getting to a stage where i actually understand what i like the idea of and what actually makes me happy to own..

While my car buying history wouldn't exactly reflect it (Ford Sierra Sapphire, Austin A40 Farina, Volvo 240 saloon, VW Polo breadvan, Austin Princess wedge) I seem to go for the funny looking ones.
That said, the wedge is closest to a car that feels like a 'me car' from the factory which has surprised me, I always thought I was more of a Riley RME man myself.
