I think that actually brown with a green front valance.

I know Amir Khan probably has loads of money but I'd still feel sorry for him and his dad if this car turns out to be a ringer, I especially hope it doesn't end up squashed because it can't be ID'd.

It's quite a touching story up to the picture of the brown one with the roof stoved in.

I'm wondering if it's a 73 onwards car wearing a pre 73 ID, people seem to be so eager to do that, as if there's nothing wrong with it.

Of course, here's hoping there's a perfectly good explanation.

My last Silvia always came up as scrap on the insurance data base and other search things because the previous owner was gonna break it so when he cancelled his insurance he told them it was because he was scrapping it, so they put it as scrapped in the database! that was a pain
Also know people sending off log books as scrap to save all the sorn business because they were gonna use it as a donor car at some point. Thats why the new v5 doesn't have a scrapped box anymore and you need an actual notice of distruction letter

Lets be honest, if you bought 10 old/tax exempt Fords that cost upwrads of £3k or £4k, I bet 6 of them would be 'reshells'. You would never know for 100% certain with a lot of them, but if someone discovered a miracle way of establishing the facts, I bet thats the sort of ratio you'd get.

That car is not 'unrestorable'. Not even slightly. I've rebuild worse. I'm selling someone parts to fix even worse again.

I found & bought a car that was 'scrapped' and I got the docs back by writing to the DVLNI and paying the scrapyard more than it was worth to save it. Got pulled etc as it flagged up but it was all legit and served another 4 years until it really was scrapped.
