Okay the calendar stuff is nearly finished I'm hoping to launch it tomorrow (pending how much real life work I have to do today). I've been restructuring the wheels database so it is now the vehicle database that has also has PCDs. I'm going to re-write a couple of pages of code which will include page where you can "list gaps" by manufacturing dates or by PCD so and if your feeling helpful you can find out the info that will fill in those gaps Once all thats up and running I'll be starting to add more new stuff. I'll do a little poll on what should be first once I'm ready. Any more ideas gratefully received....

I had another idea last night, whilst drunk and playing top trumps (the card game ) Some sort of Top Trumps based list, based on Retro Rides type vehicles; each one has a pic and the vital statistics. HotWire, if you put it up in a 'fill in the blanks' type form, then we fill in the figures for the standard cars, then when we've got loads of them, start extending it for users' cars as well, maybe have the top trumpesque card in our profiles? Did that make sense? It does in my head, but so often I fail to fully explain myself. So what do you all think? Matt

It makes sense, but it's some project, if we do it it'll take some huge time and effort to get a decent sized list going. If we were to do it, I suppose I can dig up plenty on the stuff I know (Imp related, Volvos or Eastern bloc mostly! )

It's growing on me more and more, if everyone is in agreement then I'm in, what do we need to do?

I think 1st thing is to decide categories... Year of Manufacture Cylinders/Configuration Cyl. Capacity BHP 0-60mph Top spped erm... PCD Retro Ride Rating? Anymore? I think we don't want too many, otherwise it will take even longer to complete

I don't think we want anything more than that, since if we start putting up every concievable detail of every car we can think of, then looking up a picture of it, we'll be trying forever to finish it!

Yep, Parts interchange chart sounds good.
Things like using 300ZX airflow meters on seriously tuned Pulsars, or Ford fitment Webers on rear engine Skodas.
Supra fuel pumps and 550cc injectors going onto generation 4 Celica GT4's.
On turbo motors, which intercoolers have been used inplace of restrictive ones, that sort of thing (very popular using Volvo 8** series intercoolers on Saab 900 facelift models as a full on front mount, to replace the restrictive side mount one.
That sort of thing would go down really well.

Another good one (although I've never tried this, so I can't verify it, but I've heard it, is that Ford Fiesta mk1/2 trackrod ends will fit a Hillman Imp, as will mk1 Fiesta wheelarch lips. Apparently.

About the wheelarches, for the front ones anyway as far as I know, I think the rears might work too but don't quote me on it. Only if you were using Fiesta ones, make sure you use them in pairs, not just as an individual repair section, they look nearly the same once they're on, but apparently you'd notice if the front arches were mismatched if there was only one on. Never tried it myself.
