i always chuckle at the "look at our uber modern techno dash..............but please ignore the traditional odometer, we haven't quite worked that one out yet" aspect
if only lcd screens came in a wider range of aspect ratios, i'm sure some cool / retro stuff could be done with a car pc/smart phone.........in the proper location rather than in centre consoles

The first picture, the Alfa one, what car is that from? It's awesome! Also looks suspiciously like it might not actually be electronic but uses drums to move a band up the speed/rev ranges? Definitely, I still quite like it though. It's not the dashboard, but it is a touch screen colour CRT climate control. From 1990. Also available with GPS navigation and a TV. I love the Eunos Cosmo.

Epic. Touch-screen climate control and GPS - with a tape deck.

I'm a big fan of digi dashes too (providing they work ) they all look absolutely awesome!!! Particularly like the Celica Supra one: Unsuprisingly very similar to the AE86 digi dash...... .....a personal favourite of mine, love the way the revs chase up the dash

The first picture, the Alfa one, what car is that from? It's awesome! It's an Alfa 90 - as well as that dash it had a removable briefcase where the glovebox would normally be. First digital dash I saw was in a Renault 11 TXE Electronic.

You're forgetting the Subaru XT dashboards: Which is awesome as you can see It also has a tiny car in the centre which has difflock and air suspension height control indicators meaning the whole tiny car raises when you raise the suspension
