I have finally got this Croma on the road, and am now looking to find it a sympathetic new home!   Vital stats: 1989 Croma 2.0i.e. automatic, 17,000 genuine miles from new with bills to prove, two owners, MOT till Nov 2012, Tax till end July. DRIVE AWAY LEGALLY! Never bumped, welded, scratched, repaired, anything - 100% mint on the bodywork with not a speck of rust ANYWHERE! NOT A SPECK! Paintwork is orignal and gleaming. After a drawn-out recommissioning process (been off the road 7 years) this car is on the road and in use, I did 100 miles in it today and it drives absolutely bob-on. I will continue to use it for the time being so expect the mileage to go up. EVERYTHING works on it from elec windows via central locking all the way to the krazy vehicle check panel on the dashboard. Excellent tyres, new cambelt and fuel pump. The gearbox is a ZF 4HP22 4-speed effort which works perfectly, its got a lock-up feature above 50mph or so, so when you get a bit of speed on it doesnt feel like an auto. 70mph is 3150 rpm so its a fantastic cruiser, much better than I expected anyway. 120bhp I think, not going to win any drag races with it but its quite sprightly (don't think its very heavy for its size). I am using this car for commuting now, the logbook is in my name and i'm building up the karma with it nicely. I will get it properly valeted this weekend then bosh some more pics up after. Forgot to put in some bad points - Theres no radio in it, and the spare wheel is off a Fiat Brava, so its got a 185 tyre rather than a 175 like the other 4. Like a sort of 'reverse space saver' wheel. Oh and the ashtray in the dashboard does not close, it just pops open all the time. Thats about it!

Paintwork is orignal and gleaming. I will have my crack and sack waxed and posted on YouTube if you can prove that the front offside wing hasn't been re-painted. Aside from the above, that's one hell of a sweet looking proper retro Fiat. Well done, sir. |

I will take up that challenge, what method of proof will you accept? Don't know. If I lived closer I would pop over to CW1 and take a look for myself. If I'm right, I go home with my dignity intact and satisfaction that I've proved you wrong. If I'm wrong, which I don't think I am, I'll book myself into the nearest salon. |

Nah, its some lad who’s a bit of a ‘Formaggio Grande’ in Lancia circles, he’s got a plethora of Beta saloons, 2 x Gammas plus various other treasures, (none of which are parked on damp boggy peat outside a windswept beachfront tin shed apparently) sounds like HE DA MAN to take custody of this fearsome beast. He bought it over the phone and wired me a deposit. To my amazement i’ve had a few folk ringing up sounding reasonably desperate to buy it, so theres a bit of Croma appreciation out there still.

But seriously, missed a great opportunity there, unless you can source a paint thickness gauge before pick up?
