Apparently, there was/is a Montego 6R4, which i cant find a huge amount of info on. It was the test bed for the hugely succesful Metro 6R4..... Will try and find some more info!

Allegro means "quickly". Its italian I think or maybe latin. Its used in musical scores to indicate the pace you should play the piece at.
Maestro means an expert at something, again usually musically related term. Someone very accomplished on a piano may be called a maestro.
Montego is a place in the Caribean (I think). Montego bay.
A lot of car names are deliberatly chosen to mean nothing at all in any language eg Mondeo although it apparently "suggests modernity"?

[/topic] I read when the Mondeo was launched it was designed to be one of the first 'world cars' - the basic design is on sale across europe and the USA with little difference. Maybe even AUS/NZ? Hence 'Mondeo' was derived from 'Monde', french for "World". [topic]

The mk1 escort was developed as a `world` car as well. Always thought it was a strange term a lot of japanese cars were but they never had to shout about it

Hey, i never said i agreed with it, that's just what i read! and it wasn't even on the internet, so it must be true! anyway, why let facts or reason get in the way of a nice name for a car? Does anyone know if the Fiesta and Escort were named before or after their magazine counterparts?
