Hey all, I just won a reliant kitten on ebay for the grand sum of £200.12 ;D I have a few plans, but wondered if anyone could share inspirational pictures of Kittens?! I quite like this, and I have alot of Satin Black to hand so it may go down a similar road to this, but alot lower, on 10" mini alloys, and currently searching for web for bike engines. These alloys. What do you think? Aiming for around 250bhp/ton sleeper for under £700, I'm an engineer so a prop adapter shouldnt be too hard to mock up on CAD and made up, I have bucket seats, enough poly carb for rear windows etc, not sure what route to go down about brakes etc. I will make a project log when I start!

Christ bet that shifts! haha, I'm after a more sleeperish look, but that pretty awesome haha Made a terrible quick 2 min photoshop of a satin black kitten lowered on my alloys, it looks pretty cool i think , bearing in mind i didnt have a very good angle photo to play with, and it was only a 2 min jobby.

Have you thought about tuning the Kitten motor? Apparently they're quite tunable. They are but realisticly you'll get about 80-85 bhp out of one, which is someway short of the 250/ton suggested. There should be plenty of obsolete 750Formula bits about.

Off course this has to be shown. sooner or later The 750MC boys use the Fiat Fire engine in combo with the Reliant box and axle. Otherwise a MX-5 engine swap might be a novel idea.

I've had 3 (and Reliant 3 wheelers) - Kitten, Fox and Salamander (Kitten based but with Ford Kent engine & autobox). All great fun. Front suspension / steering parts difficult to find and horrendously expensive. Best to join club for assistance in sourcing rare bits. Steel reinforcement plates in doors and A pillars rot but easy to replace. Check as if they are left rotten then all door weight is taken on small areas of the fibreglass rather than being spead over a large area by the plates and thus it cracks. Club has details of disc brake conversions for front - I think it might be Fiesta based parts. Fox chassis is galv'd but Kitten is just painted and they do rot. Worse area is the top face that is hidden by body caused by build up of mud etc between them. Body off only way to repair. Thickness of chassis metal is similar to that off cooking foil to keep weight down so don't ignor any rust as it will quicky turn to rot.
Have fun.
