Hi all,
I’m reluctantly selling my P100 truck because I live inside the London Low Emission Zone and the prices I’ve been quoted for supplying and fitting a particulate filter are probably more than the truck is worth, and I’m looking at a £100 a day(!) “charge” every time it’s used…. (Thanks a f*cking bunch, Ken and Boris…)
So, it’s a 1991 Ford P100 pick up truck on an H plate in fetching white, with a recently reconditioned 1800 turbo diesel engine.
The engine was rebuilt at a cost of £1,940.40 (I can show you the receipt for the work) which even included a new crank and it’s done exactly 3,034 miles since. There’s a fairly recent recon starter on there too.
It starts first time, emits no smoke and has no nasty rattles or noises, as it should after spending all that money….!
The body is in pretty good condition for a 20 year old commercial vehicle. There are a few dents and scrapes here and there (as seen in the photos) but on the whole it’s in pretty good shape. The worst area is probably the roof which has been pushed in a little and has a little scratching, and the tailgate and NSR corner, which is showing a few parking knocks.
The interior is again cleaner than average (for an older commercial vehicle), but by no means immaculate. The driver’s seat has a few small holes in the base and the bolster nearest the door is worn through to the foam. Everything works apart form the fuel gauge (a common problem on these trucks) and the glove box lid handle. The release bearing rumbles a little in neutral.
There’s a black rubber bed liner in the back, and the bed is good and solid underneath. There’s also a canvas bed cover, but the bows are missing and most of the loops have snapped, due to to weight of water ponding.
So, a perfectly usable truck, ready for work with a strong engine that should last for years and years, or a good solid base for a custom/drift project with an engine you could sell on and make a few quid.
Feel free to email me any questions or to arrange a viewing. Sorry, I’ve just bought a new petrol truck so I’m not looking for a swap or Part-Ex.
Cheers for looking.
Em.
