So, last couple of days, it's been really reluctant to start in the cold weather... put it down to the glow plugs/alternator/starter motor or the battery being on it's way out. John's fixed all that and we think because of the mechanical pump not being made to run on 'normal' road cars, it doesn't have cold start and isn't getting enough fuel, so going to turn the fuel up and see if it improves.

most mechanical pumps will have a cold start advance cable, these just raise the tickover not the max fuel screw.

Mine's special, it was designed for high performance 4x4's.. there's only 10 of them.

got a pic of the side nearest the head? I can see the idle screw in one of the pics, its the lever these act on which is moved by the waxstat cable. it will have been built up from something stock, granted the guy may only have built up 10 specifically to this spec, but not inconceivable to make up another

It doesn't have the cold start function, my fella has already confirmed it On a different note, we've chopped my sump down so have an extra 25mm clearance between the sumpguard. The original size With extra clearance

Well John's been looking over her and I did indeed smash my sump but not head on.
When I hit the bump it bent my subframe into the steering rack and smashed into the sump so sumps getting repaired again and my brother in laws making me a new subframe.
She'll be back out sooner rather than later as I need a car and cant afford a 2nd one.

So, I got the car back.. then managed to smash the steering rack into my sump so for the last 2 weeks it's been off the road again Waiting to go down the barn: At her 2nd home: Whilst waiting, I bought her a Range Rover P38 2.5 DSE engine cover as I've been after one for a while. Sump's been removed since & until the show season starts, i'll be rocking some 17's. Sump went to the heart surgeon wednesday and we unfortunately didn't get to pick it up yesterday but it's back in our hands and being fitted tonight so hopefully I'll be getting Smokey back tomorrow.

I spotted this on the M42(S) to M6(N) link road some time around Christmas. Looks to be in very nice order and you've done an engine swap that I have considered for every one of my E30s! Doubt you noticed me but just in case you did I was in my dropped black Audi 80 going rather faster than you.

We had a trial run of the 17's last night and they don't fit, the catch the strut, chassis rails, inner and outer arch and anything else it could find. lol. Plus they don't suit the car (which helped my fight) Goodbye gash wheels (Now for sale) Bit of a size difference between 16's and 17's.. no wonder they caught. Borbets back on. <3

Got a knocking noise atm so thought we'd get her on the ramps to have a nosy, looks like lower arm & wheel bearing so getting that fixed tomorrow when the parts come through. Struggled to get on the ramps so had to use planks of wood then managed to do a slight burnout because the car said no.
