That F40 is amazing, but it looks like the work on the Davrian, with its curviness and deterioration, is a greater challenge.
Back when I was a kid, my dad bought and rebuilt a TVR Grantura which had suffered a multiple rollover in a hillclimb. Now I have an idea what he was up against!

holy curse word I was a mile off with the engine never seen one of those in the flesh (davrian) I micht missed this but what engine r u going to use in the f40 kitcar I plan to use the Jaguar 4.2 supercharged v8 should be an easy 478bhp as the original. Hopefully nice and smooth with it being supercharged too. I plant to build the Davrian with the stock imp engine, that will probably get payed with a little but i don't plan to spend much on it. Cant believe how much it is to get an imp engine to 100bhp as that really is the target i have for the car, should be nice and useable on the road still. Lately i have been looking at the Kawasaki KZ1300 as an option, so it would be a bike engine conversion with a difference with it being a 1300 straight 6! Pretty hard to get hold of but if I'm patient I'm sure one will turn up. 125bhp @8,000rpm and around 85ft lb stock is sounds ideal for what i want. If i do go down this road, no majour mods will be done to the Davrian, i would make sure it all unbolts so i could put the imp gear back in. What are peoples thoughts on that idea?! Cheers

Have you ever driven an Imp engine? they're hilarious fun.
They rev forever, are as smooth as silk and an absolute joy to use. even the standard mk2 engines are pleassant. They are matched to their gearbox superbly.
I'd look for an Imp Sport Engine, fit a Weber 28/36 on a C/T Manifold and get a decent exhaust. That'd be enough for some fun in a Dav. If you can't find a sport engine, get yourself an "L4" engine, it's has the same block (with the oil drain pipe) as a sport, but the head has smaller valves, but still retains the sport cam. They're a great engine too.
Cheers,
Rich

Hi all, Not much of an update for you but i thought you might like to see some of the goodies i have been collecting for the Davrian, and some for other projects. I'm spending quite a while searching for interesting period pieces for my interior. I find it is usually the interior of Davrians that lets them down, along with exterior fixtures that look too big for the car such as lights and handles. So far for the dash i have picked up a Smiths chronometric rev counter, very nice looking and has a great stepped action where the needle doesnt move smoothly but moves in stages updating about every second... I recently bought a NOS speedometer from an Alfaromeo apparently, off ebay for a bargain. I think it goes well with the rev counter even though they aren't matching... These were just a couple of switches i found lying around in my dads workshop, i think they will fit in somewhere. So far i have the choice of 2 different starter buttons, a standard lucas chrome item or to be a little different i prefer the one i found from an early london double decker bus!..... A bonnet pull i saved from an IMP.... Not sure if both of these will be used, it depends if they suit the lay out, but the light cluster will be used because it is small....... My dad has had this gear knob kicking around since the 60's...... I plan to use these sidelights from an Austin A35 as side repeaters on the front.... Imp tail lights are usually used on Davrians but i think they are way to big for the rear of the car, so i have decided to go for the flat style lucas glass taillights.... And clear lucas bullet glass for the indicators in the front nose.... I have also picked up a couple of aircraft gauges to use, a NOS vacuum and a boost gauce. The boost gauge is NOS from 1944 and is so beautifully made from brass and bekelite.... It probably looks like a right mix match of items at the moment but hopefully it will all come together o the dash. I plan to build it leather covered with a walnut inlay. Comments always appreciated Cheers

What kind of gearbox is it your talking about? any chance of a picture? I'm hoping its a front engine rear wheel drive box, but at a guess your talking about a transaxle? Cheers
