but [glow=red,2,300]merry Christmas everyone![/glow] I'm pretty new on here, but I just want to say thanks for the advice, and a BIG thank you to all the people who have bought the Mr pikes stickers in aid of kidney cancer UK! so lets try and bring some retro Christmas spirit back. think back to the days when you couldn't sleep Christmas eve, and were awake at 4 am running down the stairs to unwrap the new bat mobile or etch a sketch... ha ha. post some pics of retro Christmas stuff, like toys, games, cars, bikes or even TV stuff. this is when I know its Christmas ;D

Before we were too young to really appreciate it, my Dad bought my brother and I a Scalextric set. I remember we had a silver Texaco Porsche 956 and a similar Mercedes thing at one point. The first set had a couple of minis and a couple of stock cars He said that we'd "grow into it", and spent hours "teaching" us how to play it. Hours of fun were also had with this present back in the day. Most presents were car related then, and they're still car related now. Big difference has to be that this year the car presents have been bits for a real car rather than toy sized things.

I had one of those grages! My first scalextric set was this The strange smelling oil you had to put on the track so it smoked. Also had the one with Gold and Silver Porsche 911's with headlights, can't remember what it was called. This is indeed a great forum and the help and advice I've received is priceless.

I loved them. And the John player car is still my favourite f1 car today! Great way to advertise ciggaretts to kids, ha ha!

Gold and silver Porsche set was a Le Mans set, from around 1987 I think, remember hours of fun with it, the cars were replaced on mine by a pair of mighty metros and an Audi UR Quattro which was 4wd with the aid of an elastic band! Loved it, I have a carerra Porsche gt1 that I got when I was at I I when I found out the pub I worked in had a massive 4 lane set up in the loft, hours of fun to the point I had to buy new rear Tyres as the drifting wore them out!!!

Micro machines!!! I loved them! I had millions I collected over the years. Think I'd still play with them now if I had them. I've not seen them for years, can you still get them??

Fisher Price musta produced that garage over a large number of years. I had one, AND my step-son had one. I remember the year I got and matching 944. May Santa bring you all the big-car toys you wanted.

I know it's crimbo cos the bottle of JD is half empty and there's still another 2 bottles to go ;D Just got back from my neighbours after polishing off a bottle of JD & a cigar ;D My lad has my old Micro Machine van/Town in his bedroom with about 80-90 Micro Machines that I had.... He also has my old lego and standard toy cars. This year Santa is providing a proper 'Trick' scooter that has just been put together so don't suppose the M/Machines will be played with for a while

Hot Damn! I had one of those Fisher Price Car parks too! I blame that for my car infested nature these days TBH. Also on the blame list was this: I still have that knocking around oddly enough (the Cosworths) and in a storage unit I may just put them to some use .

my favorite toy was this back in xmas 1975 used to run constantly, when the car got to the bottom, the lift took the car to the top and it stated again, used to sit and watch it for hours. it died when as with a lot of toys in the old days the batteries leaked acid . been looking for one to replace it on ebay etc but no luck, yet. founf a clip of on working tho

I remember my dad getting us a TCR set when we were too young to appreciate it. He had a great time showing us what it could do! We had a couple of Porsches and later added a racing rig. Happy memories!

The advantage of having Sons (I have 2) is you can play with what they get
