On the weekend (hopefully)!
Needs a bit of work (rear arch and other bits n bobs).
I need inspiration on where to go stying wise! One idea I have is dropped 60mm over some 15" MINI steels with 175/45s. Any others?

They go very nicely over 15's and -60mm shouldn't be an issue with that wheel size and you can fit some bigger brakes from a Mk2/3 Astra Gsi or Mk2 Cav SRi/Gsi. If you can find some alloys from a Mk1 MR2 you gain a little wider track too.
I personally like them without the GTE bodykit.

The lowest spec they ever made, 1.2 S or something! Adam I have noticed that the lowest spec of retro cars are the ones which are tough to find now - as no one ever wants to save them. Anyhoo - cool find!

If you want to do it on the cheap a set of Manta alloys would do the trick, the ones with the pentagonal centres. I used to have a set on a Mazda 323 and they looked great and improved the roadholding a bit too. You can pick them up cheaply (I got mine for nothing they were in the boot of a MK2 Astra I got in p/x!) and they only take 175 tyres so a blowout doesnt cost a fortune. They look pretty mean if you leave off the centre caps, too.

15" VW steels, a tap with the stick, a suitable roof rack and a bit of t-cut. Sorted.
Quality first car.
