'Been checking out this entire thread today. Cracking effort and obviously a lot of thought gone into this.
I've always loved the Herald shape and combined with the modern engine and running gear it's the best of both worlds. You won't win me over on the wheel choice, but everything else is just superbly executed.
Keep going mate, this is fantastic!

Thanks Mkii Yeah been a bit of work this project but trying to push on and get something I can use. Glad you like the car. I've had a bit of feedback about the wheels. I'm going for a modern retro classic look. What I mean by this is herald meets Audi Rs 4. Twin pipes, low stance. Big wheels, big brakes...the wheels are open so you can see the rotors & calipers. The car will be a Bright white with the wheels being painted gunmetal or similar. Then again it might not work and I'll change them. Its all in my head so we'll just have to see what she looks like. |

The title was enough to grab my eye, then I spied NZ plates I knew this would be interesting. I like what you've done and where this is going. As for the wheels they give it a Hot Wheels vibe, which is not a bad thing. And it seems to be how you guys in the Southern Hemisphere roll.

I keep looking at the wheels on my wife's Honda. They look like Mini Lites and have the same offset and wheel stud pattern as the present wheels. Managed to score a set for $100.00 (£50). Gave one a fit up to see if they look OK & stoked at how they look. There had been a bit of not so positive feedback on the first set but I think you English types might like these ones. I'm going with them anyway. Let me know what you think guys.      |

Much better than the others. If you can fit some larger sidewalls on them than you could on the others it'd probably handle better as well.

I thought these would have more appeal and certainly go better with the era of the car. Not enough clearance on the front to go to 45 or 50 profile. I have to modify the bulk head as it is to get clearance for the 40's, |

allot of good work going on in there !
also approve of new wheels. previous ones look like they should be on a modified calibra from 2003 or something !
