Looks like it's basically a Renault 12, right? Proof reader you say?? It is actually a Renault 12, re-badged for the Romanian market. LOL.

Yes, but as far as I can tell, there wasn't a R12 coupe. I could be wrong though

Also known as a Dacia Sport - the latest issue of Practical Classics has one in - Sam Glover brought one back from Romania. Boasts a mighty 1397cc and 65bhp. Page 30 for those wishing to avail themselves of WH Smith's reading rooms. And yes, based on the Renault 12.

Not seen a 2 door in either Renault or Dacia format. Neat.

Just asking for a fuego or 21 turbo engine and some of those funky wheels of an a310 alpine...

Amazing, never seen anything of these before! It really transforms the look of the R12 and looks like a thorough job with the lengthened doors & lowered roofline making it a coupe over a 2-dr sedan. Do one as an R12 Gordini coupe! Still like the R15 as Renault's proper coupe though.

btw, the Dacia and the southamerican equivalent Ford Corcel were introduced before the R12 was launched, always liked the shape of the R12 .....

the Dacia and the southamerican equivalent Ford Corcel were introduced before the R12 was launched Hadn't realised that - both Dacia and R12 debuted at the Paris Motor show in 1969 according to the net. Must have been a tad confusing. Had presumed that it had been a Fiat-Lada here's our old tooling stylee arrangement, particularly as they only stopped making tham in 2004. That's some model life! Another reason why this site is great - every day's a retro school day!
