www.johnsonshotrodshop.com/g_force_cuda.htmApparently its the "ultimate street machine". Its got not so much column inches as column miles in the magazines and its been around all the shows. I just can't help thinking that for all the pretentions of "built to be the ultimate driving machine" that it will end up at Barrat Jackson in a couple of years time with like 50 miles on the clock. Whats up with it then? Well, IMO its fugly. The proportions of an excellent old muscle car have been ruined and its all fad "look how ig the rims are" s**t not proper modding for performance (see the Caddy I posted earlier...) Nope, its just looks like an overdone poseur to me. no doubt the engineering is faultless, but if my chequebook was that big mine would be too. OK, cars like this need to be built. The bar needs to be raised. But to my mind cars like DSE's Camaro and Schwartz's Cadillac do that in far more "real" ways than this does. I just can't relate to it. Anyone elses thoughts?

Hmmm, from rear 3/4 (won't let me copy the image) it definitely has a funny car look about it. Ditch the big rims and put some mags on it, zoomie headers etc etc ;D I agree that it'll probably see little street use. Would like to see it go up against that Caddy.

This is proably the nicest looking thing that has graced RR pages for me. thats just my opinion though, my build would be cheaper obviously, but agree whats the point if its not used.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

It just looks like a plastic 'Cuda has melted by the fire to me. what it should look like... Modifying a car and ruining the orignal proportions? Too much billet, too many BMW Angel Eye headlights and stuff like that. Its just wall to wall gimmicks IMO.

I think it looks bad to the bone actually. I quite like it Not too keen on the carbon fibre bits or the interior, typical american sort of thing, but the rest looks pretty good to me. /runs and hides

I can't criticise it too much - the mods are very "now", with the huge rimz and all, but that's progress. The rear quarter looks way out of proportion though.
Chequebook builds don't really float my boat as much as (say) home-brewed budget innovation, and I like to think that if I had an unlimited amount of money things would be done differently.
But I'm skint ;D

I think it has officially been pimped. Its kinda like what Max Power would do to one. Thats what I don't like about it.
Theres not one stock exterior panel on there. As I said, all very well engineered, but just a concept I think is too much like its shouting "look at me"

The thing is, if i had that much money (what d'ya recon, 80 - 90K? mabe more?) I oculd build a whole selection of amazing cars. 50K would go towards my 787B replica, another 20K on my caddy drift machine, and the other 20K on a rotary powered audi 80 drag car.
Thats three cars that would hve a whole lot more innovation and substance than that cheque book cuda, it might look OK, but its a massive waste of money IMO!

It's a car I'd love in the garage but it's too LOOK AT ME PLEEEEAAAASE LOOK AT ME to drive around in. The engineering on it I love though, it looks so well put together.
If it was the orginal proportions with some of the nicer touches on a set of different wheels I'd like it more.

What a waste. So much modding potential and they flock it up by trying too hard

It's Ugly. Far too many body mods, Should be standard externally with the exception of a bonnet bulge/scoop to cover whatever engine is underneath. ^^ like this one.

Being "now" doesn't make it right. However, many fads of questionable taste have come and gone and it will soon be forgotten in favour of the next "now"
