Hi All, I've been making Stainless wheel nuts for the Vauxhall viva range of cars for some time now and thought it might be time to branch out to other retro marques if anyone is interested? I generally make them from 316 marine stainless 3/4" hexagon bar,and any associated washers from 316 round to go with them, normally working to samples provided by the customer or sketch drawings made up by them where possible. They're not cheap as they take quite a lot of time to produce on a manual machine, and the material's quite expensive too,but I polish the heads on them to near on a mirror finish so they look near as damnit like chrome ones, only they don't flake and rust like chrome does! Once you've got a set they should outlast the car if looked after! If anyone wants any picks of some i've done before ask away and i'll post some... Also looking at producing any other turned items that people may be interested in (feedback appreciated here peeps!) Also have access to a laser profiler at my place of work at the moment (and I do the programming for it) so can look at fabricating scarce or unobtainable parts too. Let me know if any interest ;D Dave

Hi, If i knew how to post pics up on this forum i would do - have tried but failed miserably. Erm,as regards the nuts mentioned i'd need to see pics of them to get an idea of what's involved before giving an indication of price. Here's a thread taken from the DSG forum though fer now with a few commendations from some happy customers droopsnootgroup.yuku.com/topic/2956Dave

Can you etch a small map of Bulgaria onto the head of each nut, and then fill in the lines with powdercoat before polishing them in relief? Or alternatively, perhaps a cloissonne firing of the map in colour? If so, can I pick the colors? These would be in Whithworth sizes ofcourse. ;D

Can you give an idea of cost. Seeing as you've done Vauxhall, lets say a set for a Viva?

Thanks for putting that piccie up for me Robin ;D Those are the Droopsnoot Firenza Avon Alloy nuts that i've made about 16 sets of. FORD350CAMPER - Yes,can make locking nut ones to sample - have actually just made a set of these for a customer;when i work out how to post pics on here i'll put some on including that one. TEAM BLITZ - hehe i don't know about all that! Could light Laser etch a small map of Bulgaria onto each nut possibly!!!! SIDMUSS - I sell the set in the picture (16 droopsnoot firenza nuts and shank washers with polshed flats and heads) at £85 including ther P+P - sounds a bit pricey but they cost near-on 40 quid for the material alone, and if you look after them they should last for years, possibly outlasting the car. STEVEO3002 - Yes,can do bolts M7x1.25 @ 40mm long - hex head only though.what size head would you like on these ie across flats? Probably in the region of a tenner with the postage? Cheers all for the interest ;D Dave

No worries. To stick photo's up on here you just need to upload the photo somewhere else (facebook, photobucket, another forum, wherever) then find the image's URL, (this depends what browser you're using, on google-chrome and I think firefox its a case of right clicking and selecting 'copy image url', on internet explorer it's right click, property's, then copy the line next to 'address (URL)') then paste this into your post and write [/img] at the end of it, and at the start of it.

Could you also make wobble bolts? Coop

Hi Coop, I can't make any wheel bolts, just wheel nuts as bolts or studs have gotta be high tensile so stainless aint any good for them. Tbh i've never seen a wobbler nut/bolt, although have heard of them. Dave

Do stainless nuts have any problems undoing themselves due to the friction properties of the material?
