Just wondered if anyone had anymore info or project logs of cars that have bassically had the body put on the chassis of a different car? I don't mean the usual mini body on a SJ chassis, i mean litterally cut the body off a car, leaving you with the running gear and floor etc. And welding the body of another car ontop? Like this mini pickup, sort of? www.16vminiclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20021Any info would be appreciated sorry if its been covered before, i just don't know exactly what its called or what to search for haha Jack

Id love to see/hear more about the moggy 200sx?! Thats the kind of thing that interests me Modern powerfull RWD power in a sleeperish body, reliabilty and performace but retro looks. Best of both worlds!

Wouldn't that mgf stay as an mgf? The main skeleton off the shell is still there, the main monoque of it hasn't altered, its just the cosmetic outer panels have been changed, like if it had a new front wing/door skin/rear 1/4, just using the wrong ones tho?

I believe it's called "Frankensteining". I was having some dirty thoughts about an FE on a Carlton GSi.....
Then a serious case of can't-be-arsed hit me.

www.saxperience.com/forum/showthread.php?t=243425&page=40 starts off innocently enough, then goes INSANE.... hes on about scrapping it now though :/ (yes, don't read the 40-odd pages expecting a finished article... most of it is general sax-p 'banter'. Or as i like to think of it 'owning a modified saxo and thinking you're the next chip foose'

had a look into this to the point of buying an Omega 3.0 to go under a Manta Coupe shell. worked out the track will go under fine using a 400 kit,and the wheelbase is only 2" different. unfortunately my business was going under so everything ended up being sold off!! one day tho....

Gas powered soldering iron, curse word awesome. Now thats a proper blokes tool So... not the welder that's been used to hold the whole car together... but a soldering iron? ;D

how do you even go about insuring a re-bodied car, its difficult enough when youve just done an engine swap? Modified classic or just Q plate?
