When I started this job I had a tuned up 306 D-Turbo, and I got an email saying my parking privilege was revoked because of all the black smoke off-boost. To be fair, I could barely get in over the speedbump at the entrance. They kick you out now if you drive a 4x4 or don't reverse park, unless your a manager that is. Apparently, as a major energy company who promote energy efficiency, staff have to be seen to be energy-conscious and environmentally aware. They even banned my 106 GTI for being too loud! They sound a little like a bunch of self important knobs with OCD to me... it would suck if I had to try and park any vehicle I ever have there. Some are relatively efficient but I reckon every car i've ever had that wasn't a company/work vehicle would offend people liek that

My boss congratulated me for "seeing sense" and buying a "proper car" when he saw it. I told him I couldn't wait to get rid of it and get a 20 year old Merc

It's a shame that the 740 is kinda newish. But it's still in a sea of 61 plate Focuses ;D I'll get a pic up.

Will have to get a pic when it's daylight - it's not that easy though as there are about 90 car's in the main carpark. The compact doesnt stand out all that much as there is a quite a few non boring hatchbacks in our car park, think there is a Blue spitfire, dark blue corrado, 306 Rallye as dailies. Also a very nice 205 Cti that only comes out in the sunshine.

Not at work, but shopping in Leicester yesterday after work.
Couldn't resist a pic as A) cool Volvo in the background, properly OAP-spec & B) I'd actually parked well (reverse parking with no side mirrors)

I'm a decorator and my old car used to stand out on a site carpark, against a sea of Transits and Berlingos. Miss that old girl, Drive a very boring Partner van for work nowadays

xXx Ha ha, I was parked in that spot last week. If I'm not mistaken the wall is partly knocked down right behind your Imp.. which probably wouldn't help your bad parking rep' !

I've got to know more about this, it's fascinating. How would they know about the black smoke, do they vet cars by staring out of the window? Sounds like a right place to work, I think I'd end up leaving the place in a police van.

I used to work at a mobile phone factory and the environmental monitoring was so strict that a car with a fluid leak might cause traces to appear in the plant's waste water, which was all captured and checked before being flushed into the sewers. A couple of people I knew with older, more interesting, cars (Mk1 Prelude and a couple of Mk2 'Roccos) used to have to park offsite.

No pics, but a woman in the office where I work used to regularly come to work in her hubbys builders truck. A manager told me he was thinking of getting her to change her vehicle as it looked untidy in the carpark! He was dead serious about it! What a Pillock!Personally, none of my cars have ever blended in . I live where I work ,and my drive is only separated by a rail type fence from the car park. I was once told to remove the mk1 transit I had sheeted over on my drive, and also the caravan parked on the grass, because a member of the public (who lives about quarter of a mile away) ,had compalined it looked untidy when she brought her kids to school!

Sounds like a right place to work, I think I'd end up leaving the place in a police van. Apparently people complained to site management. It's pretty funny, we all work in a callcentre for 18k a year, get treated like wibblepoo, but the place is full of self-obsessed suck-ups who spend £350 a month on finance for a new 3-series despite the fact that they live with their mam, and wear ties to work when their isn't even a dress code. I used to manage pubs, and I got to work with much better people
