Quite happy with mine. '72 was quite obviously a very cool year ;D 1st place: Fiat 127   2nd place: Renault 15/17   3rd place: Mercedes 350 SL   Yep....very happy with that trio  |

1989:  meh.  I know it has many fans here, but they're not my cup o'tea really   A friend of mine had a poverty-spec wagon that for some reason (having a laugh?) had been ordered with a VR6. Grey bumpers, steel wheels, VROOAAR. US  (Thunderbird SC) bit bland? 1990 was a better year imho, i'd be happy (very) each of the two.   Cool thread! |

Well after seeing Will's pick from 78 I'm disappointed my Mum didn't try a bit harder. I didn't pop out till January of 79, leaving me with: The Simca/Chrysler Horizon  I realise it has a huge following, but I'd much rather have the second place Fiat Ritmo thanks  (technically I think the Abarth came a bit later actually)and in 3rd was the Audi 80  |

Most of the cars I reckon have a thumbs up for '85 USA's Car of the year is definately a win sitation : VW Golf GTI:  European cars of the year were: 1st; Opel Kadett/Vauxhall Astra  2nd; Renault 25  3rd; Lancia Thema  Damn, the Thema has given me ideas... |
