Honeymonster thanks for the great reply, i'm right on the edge power wise for the manta axle. I will probably try the manta axle route first (if i can find one) as it will be the easyest way but if it cant cope or i want to up power any more i will have to think again.
You are correct i don't want to just fire the axle in there as many do (i have no doubt i could phisically fit all the components) i just wanted to know how to do it properly.
Hhhmmm more food for thought!

This actually is immensely usefull for my air ride project, the triangulated design looks like it'll be so much better for the car as it'll need so much less messing about. Many many thanks

Why not do it the easy way.....The Kadett axle is what they call 3 link so why not strip all the braketts off the new axle you have got so it is bare. Now strip your kadet axle of the halfshafts etc and grind out the tubes from the spring hangers and reweld them on to the NEW axle. What you have to remebr to do BEFORE you cut the old axle up is to measure the front of the diff flange angle on the floor as you need to get the same axle axis on the new axle. With me so far .....good !!!!! Right as I said earlier the Kadet is a 3 link set up so now the clever bit.You now need to install the new axle to the car.you now need to use an OLD panhard rod for the 3rd link.you now need to fabricate some new mountings to take the panhard rod which will now be placed down the centre line of the car....OBVIOUSLY you will need to cut the rod down.A couple of pieces of 5mm angle iron will syffice, strenthen the floor pan of the car with 3 mm plate to fix this to.The other end of the rod wil need a 5/8unf thread insert welded to it,so a rose joint can be attatched, this will go to the top of the axle casing again angle iron will suffice as bkts. This will allow the axle to go up and down with ease and allow also for the up and down from side to side.I have used this sytem on a couple of chvettes i used to own for rallying,I pinched this idea off the world of oval racing. I know it is difficult to try and explain thru this medium but if you wan tto talk on a phone abouy it pm me and ill send you my phone no
