My first thought was 'a pool table would go well in there' ;D ;D ;D Looks fantastic, 1600 sheets is a fair amount of coin but god knows what the cost would have been if you'd had someone build it for you. Great investment, provides a great useable space & must surely add extra value to your home.....Win win situation.

If it was £1600 in one lump it wouldnt have happened!!! It £40 here £100 there etc. £1600 would have bought the two sash windows on side (I'm not sure if that would have been fitted either?!) I'm not sure it adds value to the house I think extra bedrooms add value but it would certainly add appeal especially to the male members looking around, but thats never going to happen in my life time!

Awesome work. I want one! To be fair, you're making me seriously tempted to build a timber extension on the back of my garage. I was tempted to get it block built, which is beyond my skills. However, seeing this, and knowing that I've built some stud walls and am generally handy with timber is making me really tempted just to go for it. I bet you wished you'd ended up getting the ceiling plastered - plastered finish seems to need less paint for decent coverage too. Where can you go with this next?!

The paint covered really well and my mate popped round and he thought i'd had it plastered! It wasnt in the budget (as was any of it!) but at times when I was covering myself in filler dust I wish I had! I wondered wether it would end up cracking?

Well, after the last update, I can say that a whole load of changes have gone on in the various spaces Ashley has created. I get the feeling he prefers to do stuff, rather than just talk about it. So posting updates are less important than actually getting out there and doing stuff. I had a job interview in Portsmouth yesterday, about 5 minutes and less than a mile from his place. So I took the torches I had made for him for the "manspace" over..... When I got there at 10.15, I found the man busy in the kitchen. Making some Bacon Butties.... and coffee. These were quickly dispatched, Thanks a lot mate, they were rather good, in fact, very good. Of course we went and had a good look at the garage, its contents, and his games room. I have to say, the photos do not do any of the stuff he has made, any justice. It is as good as you can imagine. While out there, he produced this book and gave it to me..... just how much better can a day get? Ashley has also been collecting some number plates for me while doing his day/night job, and gave these to me before I left for the interview. Included was this mini cab taxi license plate. And possibly the most important sign ever..... It will be going down the end of the drive at the garage, so then I can leave a sign on the house front door to say I am at the "back-END" if people come knocking. So a great day out, meeting a cool guy and getting to feed both my belly and my hobby/habit.

I have to say those bacon butties were the best ever! I trully recommend if you planning on a bacon roll, go to the butchers and get real Bacon! Its an investment, doesnt shrink when you cook it, lovely and thick and tastes good!!! As you can see I did quite well out my end of the deal! Some skillfully turned indiana jones torches delivered, for what amounts to an amalgamated load of bad luck from lots of people losing their number plates on the motorway;) Most of the lads at work found these for me too, I just brought them home! Cheers Grizz! One of the nicest South Africans I've ever met ;)Jack likes them too! This is where I'm thinking they'l go when it warms up a bit! As I said earlier I've since filled the gamesroom with all the rubbish i've collected over the years! The drawing board i've had since I was 14,pumps up so you can stand up too, I need to re-stick the cover. I can sit here and look out onto the garden whilst I doodle. Grandads old chair, it reclines to a flat position so you can sleep on it! Grandads old pioneer complete with old albums, I'm going to work my way through these! Some of my magazine brochure collection, I havent sorted through this yet, I just dumped it in here. Some of the retro book selection, this will eventually go onto the bookcase but I need to stain it first. Observers book of Automobiles, I started reading these when I was 5! I could tell you the power output of pretty much any car! I dare say overtime I'l collect the missing years! Three boxes like this full of magazines, random ones to mini collections, how about this random Autotrader from 1993? Why keep it? This is why, because twenty years ago you could buy all the cars you want now for the money you can afford now only you cant buy an Rs2000 for £1095! When Grizz left Friday I was at a bit of a loose end then remembered there was the loft to clear of my old car, book, toy stuff collection. Ooooomph took ages to carry all this. 2 boxes down 6 to go.... gona need a bigger room! Jack teaching Ziggy Zog how to play pool, its part of a school thing where you bring him home and teach him about homes and dens. Time for a cup of tea and then i'l go out there and sort through some more toot whist the grandprix highlights are on in the background!
