You want old badge engineering then compare a lot of the prewar stuff... EG Austin 7 BMW Dixi American Bantam I'm sure there were examples prior to 1929?

General Motors are definitely the most guilty of badge engineering. My favourite of which is the J platform. The list is mental and shamelessly stolen from Wikipedia....... 1982–1988 Cadillac Cimarron 1982–1988 Oldsmobile Firenza 1982–1989 Buick Skyhawk 1982–2005 Chevrolet Cavalier 1982 Pontiac J2000 1983 Pontiac 2000 1984 Pontiac 2000 Sunbird 1985–1994 Pontiac Sunbird 1995–2005 Pontiac Sunfire 1982–1988 Opel Ascona C 1982–1988 Vauxhall Cavalier Mk II 1983–1989 Isuzu Aska 1982–1989 Holden Camira 1982–1996 Chevrolet Monza 1995–2000 Toyota Cavalier 1990–1997 Daewoo Espero en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GM_J_platform

Gotta add one for comedy effect. I still can't believe Toyota had the balls to badge some of their MR2's as Ferrari 355's (joke).... Kia Roadster? Really?! Bbbut that's an Elan! What's the story?
