would it not be easier just to go over and pick them up in a car? Get the ferry from Harwich to The Hook and back, pick up parts sorted.

A few ideas... Depends what the parts are... I.e. will they fit in the boot of a Passat?!
If you get them to Germany (may be cheaper shipping) I can bring them over middle of November.
Or, give one of the dutch RR guys a shout - berndd or TheDoctor maybe... Actually, if you get get stuff to berndd in Eindhoven, I can pick them up on the way through...
Or, have stuff shipped to my colleague who also lives in Eindhoven (commutes here to Düsseldorf everyday), and I can bring over in Nov, or ship them directly if that would be cheaper. Obviously I would need to speak with colleague about that first!
Would definitely advise posting your requirement up on the pony express page, see what comes up, but being in Essex would make this quite easy I would have thought...

If you can get the seller to package them up and give you the weight and dimensions, you can arrange a mainstream courier to collect from this end.

It depends on your timeline - I can also get hold of 'em (not as easily as UtterP at the moment) and bring 'em when I drop my car off with Nightmares (should be end of November if he can clear his workload).
Obviously internally in NL is easier and I'm pretty certain Doctor is over soon for another playday.... and he's such a nice guy he'll probably be able to help somehow. Drop him a PM and find out when he's next over or drop me a PM and I'll accept 'em here in Brussels.

I've both sent and received bike parts to/from Eindhoven via good old Parcel Force. Worked fine. Oh and I bought a car in Eindhoven and trailered it back a few years ago if that's of any help.

the parts are quite large, and consist of a bonnet, two wings, and a door for my project. these parts are near on unobtainable in the uk. and a bit on the large side, for a pallet. unfortunately i do not own a passport as yet, otherwise id drive over and pick them up... the best i can do is make it to a port and meet someone there. thanks for all the replys and help guys, i honestly wasnt expecting this many replies. thought i might get one at the most.

Your best bet is to import enough stuff to sell on and recoup your expenses. I just did this with some avenger panels from argentina. I used these guys who got TNT to deliver. Make sure you read the terms properly though, as they can only pick up from a place of business. www.interparcel.com/

Mine wasn't for profit or business, but the only place they make the panels I need is argentina, it cost me £200 to ship 3KG of panels, it cost the same up to 10KG, so I shipped enough to make the shipping costs back

Thomas (The Doctor) is over this weekend, but would be travelling by car, and I believe he has a female friend aboard too, so I doubt he'd be able to help with big stuff.. It sounds to me like you need a Passport, a Transit and a few extra days to make it a holiday/roadtrip

It sounds to me like you need a Passport, a Transit and a few extra days to make it a holiday/roadtrip ^^ THIS ^^ Even if the shipping costs were a few hundred, it'll still probably be cheaper to book a cheap Dover/Calais crossing, head up to to the Netherlands, collect panels and come back with them safe in the knowledge that they won't get damaged by a courier. While doing that, I would make a good excuse to make a long weekend out of it and have a proper adventure. Get that passport application in and start asking if one of your mates has a van you can borrow. It's the RR way

It's the RR way this sounds like a fantastic idea, problem is, this passport malarky would take a while to sort out, and I'm pretty sure the fellow dosnt want the parts in the way for any long period. hence why I'm putting out for help ill get the passport thing sorted while i try and look at my options, then if all else fails, at least thats an option in the future. cheers for all the comments guys.

It's me he's getting the parts from. I've been trying to arrange shipping, but the prices are absolutely mad. The parts are located pretty close to The Hague and it would be no problem to drop them off at Thomas' and Berendd's unit in Eindhoven. So Utterpiffle can pick them up. I'm in no hurry though to get the parts out of here. I'm "blessed" with a lot of storage space. So no problem there. I thought about asking Thomas, but i then read he is over (at this moment) in the Corolla. That's simply to small to take the parts with him. With the Chaser, it might have been possible. On the roadtrip part. I did it about two years ago, picking up a KP30 (less shell) In Eastbourne with my Landcruiser. I did it in 22 hours straigth . I'll keep an eye out in this topic and i'm sure we all can make something work. Mark

If you do end up going to collect them, grab a couple of sets of Mattig steels in 4x100. They go for silly money in the VW scene

The one that came with a 5K? Ifso, yes that's the one. You're buying some parts off of it! Crazy world.
