That 1966 Galaxie with the 3 speed manual and straight 6 in it didn't sell on eBay (despite getting a bid) I keep being tempted to sell the Trans Am and buy it. Would that be jolly silly or what?

Galaxie is very similar in many respects to my Fury anyway.
But its calling to me.
I've never owned a manual yank.

Tricky, i'd probably get the galaxie, but that's because i have very mixed feelings about the 3rd gens....
A Galaxy is on my list however as I’ve never had a 'full size' before, you don't have that problem!
Also i have a huge desire for manuals...
hmm, i spose if i were you i'd keep the T/A

Has a nice look to it, reminds me of the sort of thing which would turn up on CHiPs to roll down an embankment.

I'd want to clone that silver Custom 500 I saw at the hot rod drags. But as that was up for sale with a V8 in it and loads of work done for £6500 it would doubtless be cheaper to buy that than the blue one at less than half the price...

Read these few words, then read again YOU HAVE ENOUGH PROJECTS! Now read again. I'd keep the TA, it's a fine example of a TA that works, goes well and (I hope) puts a smile on your mug. However, this isn't the first "shall I swap the TA for..." thread.

As a genuine question, Irrelivent of this galaxy/transam problem..
Whats going on with the the fury and the buick? Love em both and would love to follow some updates.

Yeah, fair question.
Fury had some panel beating from Steve and is now awaiting me putting the floor pan in. The engine was possibly going into Cairyhunt's DeSoto but I think he's got another donor so the Plymouth may donate its lump to a rat rod project. Then I should think about how to source a new motor for it. But no money for those kind of worries.
Buick has become a sort of shelving unit for putting various tat upon.

However, this isn't the first "shall I swap the TA for..." thread. X a gajillion. Akku. Finish some present projects and enjoy them. Your fetish for big yank tanks is admirable, but at borderline addition levels. If you were a gambler, you'd have been sought help already You can't save EVERY car! ...I jest...I jest! NOM NOM NOM

Thing is I'm now single and I know the effect Trans Am has on ladies, I need all the help I can get getting women LOL.
I'm probably safest keeping it.

How much is the Galaxie? In the late 70's my old man had a '66 with a 428 (branded a 7 liter) in front of a manual 4 speed. I'd say though a 6 pot in front of a 3 speed manual will be quite a slow car and probably not very nice to drive. Here's the old man's one at just 13 years old
