Model: Daihatsu Cuore Avanzato TR-XX R4
Year: 1999
Mileage: 77400
Tax: May 2012
MOT: January 2012
Location: Wallington, South London SM6
Price: £1500
Additional Information:
Not very retro, but certainly rare. S-reg Daihatsu Cuore Avanzato with 77000 miles. For those of you that don't know, Daihatsu officially imported 100 of these in 1998/9. 80 of which were sold to the public and 20 went into a single make rally series prepped by Harry Hockley motorsport. 660cc 16V twin cam turbocharged + intercooled engine with 64 bhp officially and 4WD.
This car has desirable JDM front bumper (as standard on later imported models), standard car other than ITG air filter and blue flame custom stainless steel exhaust (not loud). Has Sony double DIN cd/cassette player and a couple of small pioneer speakers in the rear parcel shelf.
Biggest issue is the bodywork - rust on the rear passenger arch (see pic), some on the front and a few little blemishes on other parts of the car. Gearbox feels fine (doesnt jump out of 5th which is a common problem) although there is some whine (common problem). Turbo can be felt spooling up. Car drives fine and currently being used daily.
Good fun little car, but definitely not a motorway car due to low gearing. Great on A+B roads. Car is far from mint, but if it was price would be more than twice what I'm asking.
Reason for selling is looking to get a classic for cheaper insurance and possibly free tax (would consider swap for something tax exempt and interesting - hillman imp maybe).
Can send a few more pics via email.
