Here's the kick in the teeth though.
See that CO2 rating? 225g?
That just keeps it in the top end of band K. £260.00 a year tax.
If it was 1g more, it would be £445.00

Buy one, ditch the stock skinny rims (PCD is the same as Suzuki/Daihatsi offroaders) and fit some decent off-road rubber and you'll have the best mud-plugger in the business. Absolutely hopeless on road though. I had one back in the early 90's. Best thing about it was the guitar I swapped it for which I still own.

it's marginally depressing to me, as a die-hard UTTERLY obsessed Land Rover girl, that i would actually buy one of these over the latest defender
BUT want to know if they still make that balloon-tyred one!!
;D

cool ;D I had one of the last official imported 'old' ones, 97 on a P plate, was fuel injected etc to, mostly GM sourced stuff, Was pretty poor on the road tbh, noisy as hell the rhd was somewhat of an afterthought, and the wheel is offset to the right of the driver, the seat is also at an angle to try and compensate, mainly because the transmission tunnel is offset to the right fantastic off-road tho, i had a set of Weller wheels fitted to it off a Suzuki with chunky tyres, and nothing would stop it (i worked out in the country then, and often roads were snowed over in winter shame they rust for a pastime tho, i replaced a lot of the bottom 6 inches lol and no panels are available bar wings and outer sills lost interest and sold it in the end :/ (wish i hadn't) would deff buy another but they have become extremely rare lately and yeah id pay 10k for it, if i wanted a 4x4,(and had the money) more capable then any similar priced "offroader" hell even ones 2x the price now wouldn't touch it @ Violet, i think the balloon tyre one is still available to special order bet its not cheap tho
