I'm not sure what to make of them...obviously the systems they make up for numerous boy racers (4x4" exits through the rear bumper!) are questionable, but I'm in the market for a new exhaust on the Cressy and a custom stainless exhaust to my specs sounds like a good idea?
Anyone had any experience of their products? Obviously being a franchise then one shops work could differ from another, but I'm still intrigued.

As it's a 'J' car you can probably get away with a fair bit more than most 4in fart-can ft-ever so slightly ironic-w

I want a J-sound - a bit of a rasp, but not the full on stuff I heard while I was out there. I want it to enhance the driving experience (window open through tunnels etc ;D) but not look or sound silly.
Very few things on a car are more laughable than a car making loads of screaming noise as it travels up the road at distinctly normal speeds.

I've got a full 3" stainless system on my 610 that was done by a Powerflow place in Stafford. It's all welded together from mandrel bends and looks the part. Sounds good too. It wasn't cheap but because it goes through the rear crossmember it wasn't easy to make either. I know.. I've knocked up a coupe of similar 510 systems myself! I perfectly happy with the job the bloke did on my car

Eddie, can you give me a rough idea of price? Does it have a warranty? Mine was £240 and has a lifetime warrenty but I think you need to take the car back every year for an inspection for the warrenty to remain valid. No big deal, though I doubt I'll be doing that. I think most systems would be a bit cheaper. Being 3" mean it has to be constructed from lots of sections as it's too big to bend.

I've got a Powerflow back box on the Merc. Great sound and good quality. I can't really vouch for much else as I bought it at an autojumble, hacked off the original back box and buzzed it onto my old system I have heard good things about them though - they may produce daft 4in fart-can ricer curse word but they're just going with market forces really. I dare say their systems are pretty good.

I'm not sure where Powerflow are but I know that Burnhams did a system for my mates Mustang and it sounds exactly how he wanted it. I think they have an exhaust place next door? Might be worth giving them a call as you're only a stones throw away aren't you?

don't. they arent known as powerrust for no reason I thought they were stainless?! Maybe the quality's gone down since, but mine's been on about 3 years, and it was second hand when I bought it... seems to be OK. But I don't really have any experience of new full systems so I'm not really a hexpert

From what I can gather, they do a reasonable job for a good price, but if its fully custom there are better places out there. However, a mate had a 2.5" full system on his Golf G60 and it was the boomiest, most godawful sounding exhaust ive ever heard.

i sposer it all depends on the centre you use - the cossie work van we have had its exhaust fall off the other day due to corroded 'stainless steel' - once again, a powerflow system :/

got 2,1/4 " system on the cortina estate with a 3" tail pipe its not a powerflow system but as for pipe size i wouldn't go much bigger than the 2,1/4" on a 2.0 or it'll start to sound a bit to droney the powerflow systems you can choose what type of tail pipe you want tried a 3.5" one on our cressida and it looked a little over the top 3" is about right and you can get those J import tial pipes in that size one of those would look good on a cressy

Low grade stainless steel will tarnish and discolour but it's not ever going to rust through ...that's the whole purpose of stailess. It will fatigue and snap though if not mounted and supported properly.

Have to say that a Mild steel system sounds much nicer than Stainless Stainless is very Tinny wheras Mild steel is a much warmer sound If you want to Howl ;D then it has to be Titanium I`m afraid ;D ;D I had a Powerflow centre section done on the quattro, an he was going to do the rest as well If I had kept it That was 2.75" straight through to replace the front box ;D Sounded nice and put up with a fair bit of abuse, I would have got the Guarantee if I had wanted a reciept and had the rear section done as well, but he said he would waranty the whole thing once he had finished it IYSWIM That was done at Rochford Tyres in Essex if you cant find anyone that side of the water 2.25-2.5" is plenty big enough as well Side exit ahead of rear wheel if you want stupid loud

It will fatigue and snap though if not mounted and supported properly. Most S/S exhausts seem to be made from grade 304 or lower which will tarnish and corrode - here at work if we ever have something which needs to maintain a finish (satin or mirror polish) And is external then we have to use at least 316 grade stainless - but its alot more ££££ Three of my mates have had s/s exhausts made up by Powerflow (all been at either Birmingham or Coventry branches) As far as I know they have all been happy with the job done including the quality. In each case I think the guys making the exhaust have built exhausts that match the requests of the customer - i.e for looks & noise level

Step 1: Fit turbo Step 2: Make the 'exhaust' a straight pipe (no bends, no reducer) coming straight off the turbine outlet and protruding 1" from the nearest body panel Step 3: Spit flames at dogs and children on overrun.
