Is it wrong that I like that? I feel its kinda unfinished, and needs something like this for the back end!
(& yes I do remember Batfink! )
Oh & a suitable amount of purple paint & rims obviously! Also maybe the round lights off a stack-light merc maybe?

That looks ace! Would look even better on some big wires and on the deck with the grille and light surrounds chrome and a super shiny paint job.
WANT!

I remember seeing a few around very similar to this at '70s custom car shows.

Of all the 'ugly custom' jobs ive seen, its not awful, slam it and it'd be perfectly presentable

Practical too, there must be plenty of space in that nose! So you could fit another engine, with a clutch on the back, and a prop to the front of the gearbox?? ;D

That is a very large grille! Would a look better about 3" lower, bumperettes? & less American squared headlight frames. Anyway. More constructive images to add to the thread after finding a reference to USA Wunderbug kit/conversions. ... Wizardrod So such conversions weren't always awful.

P.S. Unrelated but... How did I miss the implications of this thread-post before: There's a few early Bugs with a German Look style (big Porsche wheels, for instance) but I can't find any full-on early German builds. In other news: Boxster Bug.

I'm usually not a fan of these at all, but the Ford Pop and the one a couple above are actually quite nicely proportioned!

Needs to be bought, then combined with one of those UVA/Fibresports 'Shogun' VW van kits that were on sale in the 80s.
