Am I the only one that doesn't get it? Personally, I think it looks ridiculous. It has all racey parts glued on, but how can it be driven in any way (never mind on track) with suspension (or lack of) like that? Definitely not the only one, in fact I'd go so far as to say that Barryboys would be interested in it.

I'd go so far as to say that Barryboys would be interested in it. Yeah? I wouldn't, at all. BarryBoys is about badly modified cars. Go on then, show us a fresh Golf that you like. ;D

It does look nice, but I'm still not a fan of all out track cars that then compromise their track performance with a nice stance and camber. Don't really understand the fuel system either, they've relocated the tank to the same place but higher up. It does look mean as hell though, I just can't help thinking it wouldn't really look any worse with some chunkier tyres on smaller diameter wheels, and camber set up for corners not looks. My thoughts too, seems it's lacking a direction but can't fault the execution.

Go on then, show us a fresh Golf that you like. ;D Could lose the testarossa side vanes, but this has reasonably big wheels and skinny tyres and looks like it might even drive properly Each to their own though, I know not everyone is in pursuit of speed and performance. I've even heard that some people spend more time cleaning and polishing their cars than driving them. I know, mad isn't it?

I'd also like to add that the stance and wheel fitment of the car in the OP is possibly the best i've ever seen on that shape of Golf, but is at odds with the motorsport theme.

Spotted a MkIV estate in black on the same wheels (albiet au naturel) in Bridgwater today. R32 front on it too. So, this is well-timed but I'm afraid it's that car that did it for me more. Nothing a bit of work making the OP car a little less fussy wouldn't fix though.

I like the battery terminal idea, I was just about to ask what the red and black things under the filler where. Seems obvious now! Indeed it does: The flap above holds the accelerant; the red & black terminals hold the ignition source. Hence the term 'Goes like a bomb'...

Pretty much hugely unlikely that's going to happen though Amazo, not as if battery terminals just start sparking for a laugh much. However if it's on air then I like it less because that's just silly. Strip out the inside and add about 6 tons of ironwork... Hmmm

Well, that's won me over. * abandons logic*

I thought terminals like that were usually used to start cars that don't have an onboard charging system?

Works for me! I just bought a five door GT TDi, and I've been seriously considering a three door! I'm sold now, though I won't be going that far and I like the stripped out look, it's been around a while now, and there are plenty of cars with this theme out there, they just don't come up here very often! Thanks for posting, variety is the spice of life and all that

I thought terminals like that were usually used to start cars that don't have an onboard charging system? Matt Usually use a forklift connector tbh, but they tend to look a bit cheap and cheerful for anyone not concerned with simply how fast it is...

In my experience Anderson Connectors are what are most widely used on genuine race cars, and are about 10x neater than having 2 battery terminals sticking out of your boot-lid, as well as not having to use insecure jump leads to connect up. As in a bigger one of these: Don't get me wrong with my last post, I think this is a great looking car, and I love both 'stanced' cars, and stripped out track racers, but there's just always something niggling away at the back of my mind when I see a car like this, as CIH says, I think it's the lack of direction, and the contradiction of the 2 styles. I also think I agree with Matt about the stance, it does sit very very well when I put aside the other mods.

I've just realised he's done all that work to make it look like a race car and it's missing a kill switch, which apart from the cage is probably the only mandatory part it actually needs.
Also the boot is on catches but you can't open it?
